Welcome to my channel CatColouring which is dedicated to the art of adult coloring. If you´re an adult colorist like me, you´ll be right at home here, where I make color alongs, tutorials, and show you my finished pages in adult coloring books like Johanna Basford, Hanna Karlzon, Maria Trolle, Eriy, and Klara Markova.
If you´re new to the adult coloring world, you can learn different techniques like blending, layering and shading and I also give you tips and tricks for choosing colours by using colour family charts.
I make reviews and comparisons of different colour pencil brands. Since I´m not an affiliate or sponsored by anyone, you can count on my reviews and comparisons to be both thorough and impartial. You can also watch my flip throughs of coloring books, if you need inspiration to new ones.

@@ChristinaDavis-sq2qe I always put some pieces of paper behind the page before I colour. I have a video on my channel with what colouring pencils work the best in that book 😊

@@carolesauter4205 Yes, they are rather expensive.
In Europe, they are far cheaper than Prismacolor. And easily available open stock. I guess it is because of the import duties that they are more expensive in some countries.
@@jannsteiner The Chromaflow 150 set costs 3449 kr. in Denmark, the Prismacolors 150 set 3450 kr. The same very expensive price: $472! That´s why we have to buy elsewhere to save some money - luckily for us, Amazon Germany sells both sets cheaper. But you´re right about import duties - if I can´t get it from Germany, then I have to buy from the US or UK - and pay import duties and taxes, and that´s also expensive!
@@CatColouring Here in Czechia the Prismacolor 150 set costs 7769 CZK and is only available in one online shop. The 150 set of Derwent Chromaflow is available in a couple of shops and costs between 4999 and 5259 CZK. I got mine via German Amazon as they were in special offer. I ordered a case for them, too, and I paid less than 4000 in total. I was really happy.
@@CatColouring I paid 124€ last month in spain for The Chromaflow 150 set (amazon flash sale) normal price is 145€, Prismacolor are very expensive here too.

It seems unfair of you to say the satin glazing liquid ruined your page when, in reality, it just wasn’t dry before you closed your book. Perhaps, just say that you prefer to use something that dries faster instead of bashing the product. I use the Krylon Workable Fixative spray. It dries fast and even, and there is no chance to smudge to colors. Good video.

My favorite artists are Maria and Klara for sure! The sweetness, the whimsical side…just adore them! If you like them, I highly recommend books from Forest Diver ( detailed drawings though). Sadly, if the drawings are amazing, the paper is quite thin. At least it is one-sided. I haven’t got any Hanna books yet: I like parts of the books but too many huge portraits and coloring faces that are that big is not my cup of tea! Thank you for the video and Happy New Year!
@@thebetterthird6402 Thank you so much 😊 Yes, it's true that there are many faces and portraits in Hanna's books, I deal with them by colouring lots of different types of skin, blue and green to make it different every time, so it's not the same. Fascinated by the acrylic inks you shared! Enjoyed seeing your other top coloring supplies. I am the same, some of those different waterbrushes pens dont work as well as some brands. Love the Tales from Atlantis pages you did, I'll have to check out those videos on the channel.

I like the Chromaflow on some books that are different paper, the new Fairytales and Folklore, and Millie Marotta’s new one for example. The other pencils I used acted a bit oddly on those.

These are lovely pages. I have a suggestion, when showing your pages. Don't have the camera so close to the pages. It's hard for us to see everything. I hope you don't mind d me saying that. I do love your pages.
