I love my Model 3 . It took me along time to get of my 1942 Beatle. 😂

We were in the market for a Model X last year but Musk's racist ravings on X were a real put-off and encouraged us to look at alternatives (we chose the Kia EV9 as it happens - and we couldn't be happier with it). Seeing his horrific and unacceptable actions since Trump has taken power I would be mortified to even be seen in a Tesla now.

Tesla or not? The overall package of Tesla is great even though their cars and customer service aren’t of the highest quality. The best cars coming through are from Chinese companies and in my opinion they have left the legacy car makers well behind. The legacy manufacturers are not embracing the move to EVs as they still want to churn out climate destroying vehicles. So there’s your choices at the moment: 1. Tesla an excellent company with great products, unfortunately with Musk as CEO using his public persona to espouse his controversial views and meddle in politics. 2. Chinese companies with all the human rights abuses and their attempts to be world leaders and confront democracies. 3. Legacy automakers that want to continue with their old practices and are supported in that by the oil lobby that want to keep making billions at the detriment of us and the planet. It seems a bit of a Hobson’s choice but I’m likely to keep the Tesla for quite a while and then see where we are in say 5 years time.

I have had a Tesla, a LEAF before that and now a Mii Electric. I'm glad EV sales are up and it's sad Tesla sales are down, not for Musk he deserves everything he gets, but for the Tesla workers who will suffer for his madness. Musk has effectively shut down USAID, 20 million people in developing countries depend on USAID for Aids medication, without it they will all die unless the Chinese or the EU step in to replace it. What kind of person would do that? That's a potential bigger death toll than the Holocaust. I wouldn't drive a Tesla now if they were giving them away, the sooner he leaves the company the better, because the Chinese are going to mop the floor with Tesla now.

My daughter has a Renault Zoe 2018, I love it and it's fine for round town and a bit further, however I don't think myself and many people will buy an electric car until the range matches or is near to, an ICE car. I watched a 'run them until they die' range test up the M1 and only the expensive Polestar reached a reasonable level of just over 300 miles, way below the manufacturer's stated range. So until the battery technology improves, I can't see any mass change to EVs for a few years.

As an EV owner I was contemplating the purchase of a model Y as a possible replacement for my current vehicle. Personally I find the politics of Musk so repugnant that I no longer feel I could buy and drive a Tesla. I am sure that quite a few people share my views . I am sure there are other reasons for Tesla’s sales decline but dislike of Musk and his politics must be a substantial component of the decline.😮

There is a huge difference between being against EVs and being against Musk and Tesla as a company. I love EV but would never buy a Tesla because i would never support his anti unionism, his love of Putin, his love of Nazism, his use of child labor, his behavior on X, his spreading and enabling of anti democratic propaganda, yes the list goes on. If musk disappears from the picture and the company takes a different route, I can reevaluate, but now I would never even want to ride in one.

I was thinking of installing a Tesla powerwall 3 for our solar system at home, but I will stay clear of it. I don't want to buy anything associates with a neo fascist 🤡💩

I have a data question. How long is Tesla's order to delivery time ? If this is 3 months, then we need to wait until April 2025 to see the sales impact (if any) of Musk's behaviour in January.

I bought a Y in 2023..... overall it has been a good car.... but wouldn't consider another Tesla as long as Musk is there.

I wonder how many people who own a BMW or Mercedes or Porsche consider the old German empire, the Nazis and the holocaust. We don’t consider Pearl Harbour and the Japaneses WW2 atrocities when buying Honda or Nissan etc and yet all the achievements of Musk and the brilliant American engineers are discarded because of his madness or is it genius? Thanks Dave. To be honest the haters are doing me a favour as they're driving down the stock price so I can buy some more at a discount. When, in a month or so, the stock heads back up I may have enough to buy my first Tesla. As far as the press are concerned I did a quick comparison between Space X and Blue Origin, both of which launched rockets, on the same day, both of which had one stage blow up. I found 260 largely positive stories covering Blue Origin (26% mentioning Bezos in the headline ) and well over 300 mostly negative stories covering Space X and all but 2 calling it Elon Musk's Space X.

I dont hate Elon or Donald, I'm sure together and individually they would he great fun at dinner or on a night out. See how I use their first names in a friendly way? I do however look and listen at what they do and say. That does taint my choice on where i choose to spend my money,

I bought a Model 3 in 2020 and still have it. Early on, I loved it and thought of adding an X alongside, or maybe a Y. Instead I have bought an ID7 which I love and in most important ways, is vastly superior to my Tesla. I'm also keen to ditch my Model 3 asap. Being even slightly associated as being a fan of Elon Musk makes my skin crawl. The thing is, even if he hadn't done all the things he's done and had kept himself to himself, I still would be having second thoughts about getting another Tesla. They're good at software updates, but not at range updates. We've lost the X and S and just have 3 and Y with minor improvements, or feature removals. My boot has always leaked, autopilot is a disaster and I feel like they have been left behind now.

I have an EV and I love it. I think the Tesla is a very good car and their charging network is outstanding. I will not buy a Tesla while Musk is involved.

Hi Dave greetings from Oxford. It will be interesting to see how Tesla sales pan out in 2025. I’m a huge EV fan, I’ve owned one since 2019. I have also been a big supporter of Tesla - in the past. The Tesla brand is inextricably linked to Elon Musk, his strange alignment with Trump is doing a lot of damage to the brand. Tesla cars are exceptional, but this may not be enough to overcome the damage Musk is doing to the brand.

Tesla have just announced a new Model Y for later this year. Why buy a Y not when you can have a much better version in 4-5 months.
