Tough Trail in Kaeng Khoi
Переглядів 90Місяць тому
Group ride Saturday to find a small lake nestled in between mountains. Accessible from a clay trail coming into it for several kms. Trails lead off in all directions and one that leads around the shoreline on the right hand side. Tyre marks for a few hundred metres before disappearing into a single trail. Most of the trail was under a thick canopy which meant it was very hot and humid there. So...

      Yea useful idea mainly for the food delivery people. But we use them too as normal carriers. Cause they're cheap and waterproof. Plus you can take it off and use the standard rack if needed.

    big mistake to remove front fender ,,all the mud gonna cover the cylinder head and gonna extra heat engine block for can not cooled down. it's simple air cooled engine,,only way to cool engine is air flow ..asap put something to block mud reach ur cylinder head era.

    • @asiaadventurecamping
      @asiaadventurecamping 9 місяців тому

      I've not had any issues with that yet. But then I don't go through really bad mud trails. This is certainly better than having it bottom out all the time and denting the mudguard as it was before. Even with the risers it was happening so this cured that problem. Maybe stiffening the shocks might help but then I'd lose the soft ride it gives me now. A bit of dirt on the engine I can deal with.

    • @asiaadventurecamping
      @asiaadventurecamping 9 місяців тому

      I've also got a Wave110i which is air-cooled. I took this up part of the Ho chi Minh trail where we got into mud over a metre deep. Hard work but again no issues. As long as you don't thrash the engine for hours on end there's no problems. These engines were designed for extreme use here in SE Asia. The locals barely change the oil let alone wash them and they're still going 20 years plus. For me I stop every hour let it cool down then carry on. So far no problems. Just keep changing the oil and it loves it.

      None of it is really heavy. I went there and back on a full tank with fuel still left. So I'm saying probably around 360 to 380km.

      No worries. I think people are expecting nice shiny mine signage but unfortunately the reality in Cambodia is that there are so many mines that they just cant be all indicated by nice signs. Certainly we saw all these markers in the video along the trails. After taking shelter in an old house one evening in the jungle we heard the familiar pop of a mine going off at about 20.30. Some local cow or buffalo had stumbled onto one.

    • @asiaadventurecamping
      @asiaadventurecamping 10 місяців тому

      I would always get an Efi engine now and forget the carburettor. Several reasons why. 1. Fuel economy is much better. 2. Virtually no maintenance. 3. Regulated by the bike ECU From my perspective, when I've been riding on certain trails very fine dust is sucked up through and into the carburettor and into the cylinder. It can cause a lot of damage as you can see in the newer video of the red Suzuki Smash. I'm not saying it doesn't happen with the Efi but I've never had any problems.

    Wow wow...i am really excited to see how it looks after your mods. The honda innovas are 125cc here in europe , at least in Greece where i live. I had 2 so far( the first was stolen ). Is there any chance you can share links from the extras?? I am very interested in the front metal base where you mounted the spotlights and the tool bag( i see a honda sticker so i will search it on internet) and the rear metal base where you mount the fuel tanks. Thanks in advance , i will watch and study the video many times. Have fun always.

    • @asiaadventurecamping
      @asiaadventurecamping Рік тому

      Yes I'll find the bits I bought to do it. The rear fuel containers was made by one of our guys but I'll do a more in depth video on that and how he did it. The whole thing actually comes off with just 4 bolts. I just choose to leave it on. It's very tough. Even when the bike has been dropped it doesn't do anything. The front rack is just slightly modified to make it more useable. Again very cheap and I'll try find the link.
