I live in York these days and very rarely go to this "dumbed down" museum. It used to have many more exhibits, but several of these, including some locomotives, are now elsewhere to make room for a railway themed cafe, which is what the NRM York has turned into. The NRM outstation at Shildon is smaller but much better in my view.
I did notice bout 7 locos was missin n they put a food court were the 40, 52 n another loco used to be in corner so idk were thy have gone

@@FirebugPhotography442even though Swindon is a lot smaller it is definitely worth a visit my husband was one of the team who moved all the equipment out the old museum on faringdon road to the Swindon works site many years ago, he was the only person aloud in the smoke box of Stevenson rocket when she visited Japan in 1998 ,

Nice completion of A magnificent engine. 👍 A good friend who lives in Fife said although John Cameron's museum was given the go-ahead by Fife council, The section that was supposed to include Union of South Africa & The Great Marquess was NOT included in the latest proposal, having been frequently rejected on multiple previous occasions. So what the future holds for 60009 & 61994 is a bit in the unknown at the moment.
