Welcome to my UA-cam channel! I created this after my personal heath challenge in 2018 to do 52 hikes in 52 weeks. I took on this challenge one hike at a time and was posting about each of the hikes on my social media. My posts were filled with recaps and fun moments from my adventures.
Little did I know that people would become very engaged by the posts and start going on their own adventures. A lot of people started to ask me questions which lead them to get outdoors more because of what they saw me doing. It felt good to see I had such a positive impact on everyone around me.
Let's make some memories!

I did this hike with my son.
Nice! Making memories! 🥾🏔️
Not a fix a fix fixes the issue not resets the watch for it to happen again:(
This gets you out of the frozen state, if it keeps happening you can try to reach out to Garmin support and also make sure the watch is up to date.
Omg thanks but why this happens?
I have no idea why it happens. Only how to fix it when it does haha!
Is that a CONDOR i see flying over the Ranch / Power Lines North Side of Lagoon ? Much larger than the hawks that just went by. Just a reminder : No Dogs. Starting to pile up here....
All kinds of wildlife! I’ll admit I’m not the best at determining what’s what. Just enjoy them all being around.
@@DanielKusper Coyotes too at Sunset yesterday. I like the adjoining Horse Ranch as well.
Thanks bro, it was too easy with your video 😂
🤙
Great. If you can get past logo..and yea tried turning it on and off..still logo.
Oh man that’s a bummer. Wonder if there was an update that did it.
Awesome thanks!
No Problem! 🏔️🥾
This is a good video, it should have gotten more views
Thanks for stopping by!
🤔
Great video! To take this further, I notice that AllTrails have released 'Trail Previews' - a 3D video that takes you along the trail from start to finish. Do you know if it is possible to embed these 'Trail Preview' videos in Wordpress?
Yeah the 3D trail is pretty cool. I have not seen this as an option to share yet! Maybe they will add this in a future release.
I bought a new bicycle a month ago. I have to go there, I am at 38 minutes to get there. looks beautiful and peaceful trail. it's worth the trip
Yeah a good amount of bike path to explore. Enjoy your new bike! 🚲
My playground. (One of them) Cheers!
It’s a great spot. Thanks for stoping by, love your blog. Super helpful.
Dan, Thank you for all that you do on this channel.
Thank you for the support. Means a lot!
I live near here and I never done this- I would get so lost!!!
What’s up Huy! If you stick to the main trails it’s pretty easy. Once you diverge there is a lot of connections here and there. And some of the trail was really overgrown as you can see.
Such a peaceful hike! Kitchen Creek Falls looks beautiful. Can't wait to explore it myself! 🌿🥾
Enjoy! Hopefully this heat wave will be gone soon enough!
@@DanielKusper Thanks! Fingers crossed for cooler weather soon. It’ll make the hike even more enjoyable!
Maybe I missed it, but was this video recorded August 2024? I’ll finally have some time for hikes end of September, I haven’t decided yet if I’ll go back to places I’ve been or places like this one that I haven’t been. Thanks for the awesome detailed videos
Apologies for the delay. I need to get better at posting when it was filmed! This was recorded on March 10th '24. I agree, I usually like going to places that I have not been either.
Fantastic scenery, trail looks amazing man!
Yeah, this was an enjoyable hike! Glad I finally got to it.
Can't hear you over the "background", which is actually foreground, music. Great otherwise though, just had to watch it without sound.
Yeah, this was an earlier video, been trying to get better with the audio level and overall presentation. Thank you for the feedback!
I enjoy your content. Very positive. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Susan! Hope all is well.
Subbed bro, good luck with the channel!
Thank you! Appreciate it! 🥾🏔️
Looking forward to the new content! I admit I've struggled a bit with finding the balance between my SoCal hikes, gear videos, tips, and everything else. It can be really hard to stay on the gas all the time. Best of luck, and let me know if you ever want to collab on anything since we seem to be neighbors.
Yeah it’s hard especially when you can’t dedicate full time and put the real effort you want into it. I actually haven’t posted for a few months, just getting burnt out with everything. But coming back strong as I do really enjoy it! Subbed back! Maybe we can catch a hike one day!
@@DanielKusper Totally feel that. I'll get into a groove where I'm uploading regularly and then go weeks or even a month or more where I'm not as active. It's a slow grind, and I figure to keep doing it as long as it stays fun!
Hello from Michigan! I have enjoyed your hikes very much over the past few months. I like them so much that I have them saved to watch when I’d like to walk or relax! I applaud your new venture, too, it will be very helpful for those who get out on the trails. I don’t hike (I wish I could) but I walk as much as I can, if that counts 😊 The very best to you as you start your new videos and I do hope that we’ll see you out on the trails, as well. Take care and, most importantly, have fun! 🤗🥾🌲
Hi 👋, thanks for the thoughtful comment, it really means a lot to me! I look forward to the new adventure as well. I have some San Diego walking trails I lost the footage to from a hard drive crash. I will have to re-record. Lot of great walks by the water! Safe Adventures 🏔️🥾
Great vid.. would you say a single female rider would be safe on the trail?
Overall, I felt safe on the trail, but there were definitely stretches where I was alone. Personally, I feel more comfortable with others around, but it ultimately depends on your comfort level. It's impossible to predict what might happen, so being prepared is essential. If this type of ride aligns with your comfort zone, go for it! Otherwise, consider bringing a friend along the first time to assess the trail for yourself. Safety is a priority, and I wouldn't want to give anyone a false sense of security. It's always better to be cautious and prepared.
@@DanielKusper Good point. Always good to be vigilant nowadays.. Thank you for replying😊
I just got the Garmin Instinct 2. Do you have to log a hike or do anything special for it to account for the elevation gain?
By default it will track floors, which is a count of how many floors of elevation you have gained in the day. If you want more accurate tracking you will need to record an activity and it will collect a lot more accurate and meaningful information. You can see this data after syncing up with the app.
Thank God for UA-cam! 🙏
UA-cam can be a lifesaver indeed!
Does this hike require any gear?
Maybe! I know that’s not helpful but it all depends on when you go. In the winter you will need crampons and ice axe and great navigation skills, the summer could be hit with excessive heat. Or other time it might be perfect and gear you would take on a normal hike will be just fine. I highly recommend checking recent trail conditions and reviews before heading out. There are enough rescues here to take research very seriously before heading out.
@@DanielKusper Appreciate the response. Heading there early monday morning! I made a list of clothes, drinks, food to bring, don't plan on taking any gear or hiking poles. I'm relatively fit, but I'm going in with the mindset that if it doesn't seem doable to me its time to turn around. The weather is sunny and in the 70s to 80s so i think its a good time, and not snow capped either. Hope to have a good time
@DenofEgoists Safe adventures! Hope you have a blast. The views are amazing at the top! 🏔️🥾
Thanks… is there any part of the hike near the river?
Yeah, you are mostly next to it for the entire time. It is just not always visible. There are little one off trails along the way that bring you to the water.
I want to do this hike but am scared of mountain lions and coyotes. And snakes. Do you know when it's the most busy?
This is a great question. It’s important to make sure you stay safe and within your comfort zone. Might be worth waiting until the cooler months. Will help with less snakes being out, although never a guarantee. I would think if you are looking for more people to be around a weekend after 9am. But with the current heat that is too late to leave in my opinion. Maybe what would work very well for you is to find a hiking group that you can go with. I think the mission trails visitor center also host some as well. Being in a group will help prevent these encounters or at least make sure they are handled safely, but again never a guarantee. Safe adventures 🏔️🥾
@@DanielKusper I think a hiking group sounds like a good idea too. Thanks for answering and for the helpful video! I really enjoyed it.
This is why i do research for any hike that i do. It's good to know that the restrooms are only available when the nature center is open. I'm doing this hike very soon. I'm bringing my hiking boots and my beach sandals with me along with extra socks. Maybe a beach towel to.
Absolutely, research always helps! Really helps cut down on the surprises. Enjoy your hike!
Nice video. What camera do you use? I also assume you use a gimbal?
Thanks! I should really make a video on how I make a video ha. I use a GoPro hero 10 with stabilization on, then a gimbal on top of that. I also hold the gimbal horizontal to lessen the vertical up and down movement of the camera.
Thanks for the info and good vids
Very helpful video, but voice sounds very quiet on mobile compared to music
I’ll have to look at all of your videos
Thank you for the feedback, will check it out and try to improve moving forward! Happy adventures 🥾🏔️
The video would be a lot easier to watch without the background music
Yeah, one of my earlier videos. It is a learning curve. Thanks for the feedback.
not working
Other than let the battery die, I am not sure what other options you have. Might need to reach out to support. Good luck!
@@DanielKusper thank you
rip
Such a sad story. I was hoping for a better outcome.
Are we allowed to ride our e-bikes on this trail?
I can’t say that I have seen signs that say no since it is a public location. My guess would be if you are riding curtious to those around it would not be an issue. But don’t quote me on that. Next time I am in the area will pay more attention to the signage.
Tq... this video really help me ❤

@@DanielKusper going to Zion on Friday 😝 super excited
Hello! I’ve been enjoying your recent videos! I’m curious… I’ve been interested in getting some trekking poles. I see you have links listed, and under “Hiking Gear,” you have water bladder and trekking poles listed, but both links are identical. Once clicked, both links show the water bladder. (I have noticed this on the last few videos) What trekking poles do you recommend? Thank you-and thanks again for your great hiking videos! 😊
Thanks for the heads up, I need to get the list updated, it's a template, so it might take some time to get them all updated. There are many options for poles. I'll admit I'm not the most knowledgeable on them. These are the poles that I have been using amzn.to/3VnI6ZX (Affiliate Link). I've put over 100 miles without issues.
@@DanielKusper You’re welcome! And thank you for the poles link. I’ll definitely look into it. I think poles would help while walking/hiking-plus an extra way to work on arm muscles! I’m enjoying watching your hike on Baldy this morning. What a beautiful trail-and steep!
Baldy is a good one! If you are on Instagram check out “super_hiking_twins”. They have done it countless times during all the seasons. Also very motivating considering their age.
@@DanielKusper Yes, I am! I’ll check them out. Thank you for the suggestion!
Such a beautiful area! Thank you for sharing your hikes-I really enjoy the no music and minimal talking. It’s very motivating to just hear footsteps and enjoy the walk wherever I am 😊 I’m enjoying going through your videos! Have a wonderful day!
So glad to hear this! These types of comments are the reason I make these videos ❤️. Have a great day!

Thank you
This hike takes me back when I use to go up as a kid. Now I see the paths can be annoying with all the rocks plus it's so crowded now. Great footage 😎
Yeah definitely a bit crowded. I usually go when I’m looking for something quick. Otherwise I try to be away people as much as possible. Thanks for hanging out 🏔️🥾
thanks that made it easy
Glad it helped!
