Have you tried crafting with paper? If not, you don’t know what you are missing out on. I love being creative and I use many different materials and techniques in my classes. I also love to teach and my first time students often tell me “I am not crafty or I can’t do this” and I tell them my motto always has been: “Art comes from the Heart. There is no Right way or Wrong way, there is only YOUR way.” I guess this is also why many of them have been with me for over a decade now and they claim “crafting together is cheaper than therapy and so much fun”….LOL I guess it can be a stress relief too.
So, come join me to get creative with cards, scrapbook pages, watercolor paintings and more. Have fun with paper and join me for the ride... Let’s Get Crafting shall we?❤️

How to change Die-Cuts from plain to special
In today’s video I am scrap-lifting my friend Erin’s layout. She created this cute Halloween layout using parts of the Halloween Memories Scrapbooking Workshop. I loved what she did with the papers and put my own spin on it. The nice thing when you scrap-lift is, that the process of building your base page is pretty much done for you. Naturally I had to add more photos to it and I used different embellishments. Make sure to check out Erin’s UA-cam channel if you haven’t done so @CraftyConceptswithErin…

Everything looks so cute and I love your attention to detail, especially the tipped over bottle. Those darn kitties! 😂
You know 😂 when I was trying to arrange these bottles and saw the kitty I thought of Dave walking through the picture and Brain Sterling the dies 😂 and my little behind the cluster story was done ❤ thank you kitties for the inspiration❤
I love your embellishments! 😃 The kitty knocking over the potion is too cute!
@@crafting_with_kami Thanks Kami, I always feel when you have a bunch of these little items to decorate a page it is hard to spread them around just randomly. So I often just imagine a little story behind it which makes it easier to place….I remembered Dave walking through Erin’s videos so often or Brian steeling dies…I figured great idea. My kitty jumped on the books and knocked over the potion bottle and it turns into a mess 😂 but thats me sometimes thinking to much 😂
@claudiahendersoncreations 🤣 I love it! I'm going to keep that in mind when I'm struggling with my embellishing!
@ It helps me sometimes….flowers, trees etc they have their place and are more easy to spread, but this little trick helps me too. Especially when I get stuck LOL..looking forward to your next video 💕
I love this! Learned so much. Love the trick to staggering the little embellishments to give it more emphasis ♡♡♡♡
@@menarobertson84 Thank you Mena and so glad you learned something new 💕 yes these little things are sometimes just what changes an embellishment. In today’s video I show a little bit more the process how I color these things in. Thanks for watching

Wow, all of those added little details look amazing. I love the coloring on the bottles! It was so fun to see you put your own creative spin on this sketch.
@@CraftyConceptswithErin thank you Erin and I like these little things that come in the stamp and die set. But you need to color them. Maybe next time I show a little bit of the coloring process to. It’s really not hard but I agree these little things make it or brake it ♥️thanks for watching

Once again nicely done!
Thank You Vicki….it is a great workshop and not my normal color combo but it was fun to play with it. I have 2 more layout and then….well we will see what papers are left 😊

What circle did you use from cricut?
@@valarieraven7523 Valarie, thanks for watching and asking about the circles. You can find a lot of different wonky circles on Cricut. If you have the Cricut access they are free or you have to buy them, but they are usually only a $1 or so. I created this one myself. I used a 9.5” circle shape and a 9” one. Layered the two on top of each other and SLICED them. Keep the outer ring and remove the rest. Then I DUPLICATED the ring twice and just moved the rings so they overlapped each other. Ones I was happy with the result I marked all three and hit the WELD button. You can then resize them to any size you like. Hope this helps ❤️
@@claudiahendersoncreations thank you. Really loved your layout.
@@valarieraven7523 Thank you so much, this means a lot to me. If you liked the circle layout, here is another version of a circle layout. It is just a one page this time, but you can easily create a companion page to it ua-cam.com/video/RdXCAJlzIoE/v-deo.htmlsi=LR5ztONxFAjD_hHo

I have those pencils and never knew exactly how to use them. Great instructions!
@@cathysito7414 Thank you Cathy and I hope you will give them a try. I actually might make a separate video showing these pencils because they are a great tool to Colo r in without having to spend a ton. It does take some practice but the more you try them the easier it will get. You can just stamp images on white card stock and practice. Also try what I told you not to do …LOL… yes, use a practice one that didn’t turn out, and go back in it with lots of water on your brush and see what it does to the image ❤️ but give them a try…if you are interested in a more detail video for watercolor pencils let me know
Love the watercolors. Did you use water inside the water brush to?
@@judytanner6418 Judy, thanks for watching and so glad you liked it. I found out overtime that these tank water brushes weren’t holding the water too good anymore. So sometimes an uncontrolled bigger amount of water would just come out without me squeezing the brush. I do like to use the brushes and I still do, but I don’t fill them with water anymore, especially not my older ones. The brush I used in the video is old, but I like the fine tip on it. I have other regular brushes that I use for my watercoloring but I know many have these or the clear ones SU offers….and they are good brushes. The only time I fill them with water is when I do bigger backgrounds with watercolor and you need lots of water to spread. Oh I have some any ways to use the watercolor pencils LOL…would make for a long video, build you are interested to see more with the watercolor pencils let me know. I am thinking of making a video just on way to use your watercolor pencils.❤️
That was a great use of the circle element! It turned out great!

I'd like to know how to make the templates you use to determine how you cut your photos down.
@@robincrowley7828 Thank you for watching Robin, you can make these temples really easy. I used some thicker vellum from my stash, but if you want a real clear look of your pictures before cutting them down, grab some acetate. Cut the vellum/ acetate down to your most used photo sizes. I have mine cut to 5x3 4x4 3x3 3x4 3x3 2x2… you can make any size you like. These are the standard sizes I use to cut down my 4x6 pictures that are already printed. Next grab a fine permanent marker and ruler and add the grid to it. You don’t need this, but in photography you work with thirds, so I just divided each side of my cut pieces in 1/3 and drew a line. That’s all, now they are ready to be used. I hope this helps…. I got a lot of questions about these little cheat sheets as I call them 😂 maybe I make a quick tutorial. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for watching.
They are all so beautiful!
