The National Institute of Technology, Surat(NIT Surat), formally known as Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technologyor SVNIT, is an engineering institute of higher education established by the Parliament of India in 1961. It is one of 30 National Institutes of Technology in India recognized by the Government of India as an Institute of National Importance. It is the Anchor Institute for the Auto and Engineering sector and will be training the workforce. The project is also designated as the "Center of Excellence" in water resources and flood management and is supported by the World Bank.

I graduated from this college in 1974 In( Electrical Engineering), and joined SAIL, I am proud to see the progress of my college. During my carrier I had been to many foreign countries, at present I am in USA. I wish all the best to my college and it's faculty.

Yes. There are a lot of changes. I was there when it was SVR college in 1993... Very nice. Wish to visit surat again.

I got SVNIT transportation branch.. Where can I find all the details about transportation branch? Please tell me.. Placement, seats, number of seats, internship programs etc etc
As a documentary video, I think the area of improvement which needs to be attained, should also be included. This is just a suggestion as a curious person. In all other aspects the information and compilation as well as presentation were outstanding.
