      Hello Aisha, i haven't tried it without the garlic and onion puree, but i think you might be able to achieve a similar texture.Let me know how it goes when you try it.

      It's the butter and baking powder that gives the crumbly texture so the more butter you had , the more flaky it becomes The garlic and onions give it more flavor and aroma
