I play staff/wand, im a mage by default and the idea i can heal and protect at the same time just yea. I use freeze smokescreen with the burn smokescreen and damage specialisations, most players dont regard the freezing/burning smokescreen as a threat and will run through it. Not only will it reduce movement speed, stack burn and deal dot damage but the burn stacks increase heavy attack chance/stack. Immediately follow this with icebarrage with bind specialisation and fireball, theyll be rooted in the flames with almost max burn stacks. This in turn can be followed by chain lightning and infernal wave, chainlighning has increased chance to transfer to nearby enemies and infernal wave will do more damage per stack of burn. Ice tomb with the bind effect specialisation is good for 2 things 1) entombs the target for the duration effectively removing them from the fight. 2) if the enemy is affected by movement speed debuff it changes to a bind, so if you hit with smokescreen and your barrage is still on cooldown you can bind with icetomb instead of freezing them. Another good thing is the skill that staff users use to spread sleep will also work on bind so you could mass bind if sleep is not available. As for cc resistance staff users have 2 options, 1 passive and 1 active. The passive is the 1 one shown in the video, a must have for any pvp, the active skill, is the 1 that increases mana regen by bout 600% for 6 seconds when used. 1 specialisation can change this to cc immunity for the duration. Tho it does come with a hefty cooldown but cd reduction on gear, skill level and willpower can drastically reduce this. Add to these the aoe protection (evasion/endurance) and fountain of life for heal over time and the shield to absorb damage, if utilised properly can change the tide of any battle.

the stone baiting was getting me so much, thanks for this btw since u mentioned it, sns can stun with shield strike if they have nirma sns, it lasts 0.3 sec tho so it works more like a casting interruption than a stun

there are items and traits that increase cc chance but they are the cheapest and undesirable traits. Everybody goes for max health , skill dmg resistance etc... maybe having them in your gear(greatsword ) might be beneficial for landing cc?

echoic barrier is as garbage as it sounds on paper. It basically does nothing, as most folks cannot survive one full rotation of CC which is what this demands you take before it gives you any defense against it.

One of the stats should increase CC resistance since we got "perception" that increases CC chance. There is no way your CC resistance is higher then the enemy CC chance if the enemy has high perception + maybe one weapon that gives a little extra chance on his favorite CC (heroic broadsword of the resistance gives 329 stun chance for example). If i try really hard, i can maybe get 300 resistance against one CC type, on the other hand i can reach 700 stun chance easy, so CC resistance is useless in my eyes.

trinket pretty much useless against dagger/gs and most of the PVP contents are dagger/gs infected.

every cc chance build all must past throught hit chance that make me shock, even i got 1000 stun chance but low hit chance = no stun

Tbh, the only thing that really matters in pvp is how to counter greatsword's cc chain

how is that stun have a chance of miss? Why does that even happen if you have more hit than your opponent evasion? If you are failing that 80% chance of stun with stunning blow then it appears as inmune not as miss, thats why you have 80% chance but you can increase it by having more stun prob on your stat to have 100% basically. Missing a stun doesnt mean you fail to land that 80% stun chance, it just means you missed your attack.

u dont need discipline to use the stone, u need to do it before u get proned cuz if u have discipline and u wait u most likely are dead by that time

4:08 this is what I've been telling people about evasion because this random youtuber and people saying that evasion is useless because they said if u have higher hit chance and the enemy have lower evasion you won't miss that's what they are keep on telling, but upon testing it even with high hit chance vs low evasion you will still miss just imagine it when you have higher evasion, right? so the point that people saying that evasion is useless when u have high hit chance is the biggest LIE in throne and liberty and its funny because these people keep glazing endurance like it's the most best stats in the game where the real best stats in the game is "DEFENSES" endurance won't make you tanky but it is the actual "DEFENSES" that is doing the thing lmfao that's why I don't trust these youtuber because they make their own mechanics about endurance that it will still works even if u have low endurance where in reality it will also applies to evasion that even if u have low evasion it will still works lmfao so if you want to reduce getting CC going evasion is good even its low case closed nice video btw at least you know what you are talking about. you deserved my sub lol

I like to add that petrify clears out any other debuffs on you like burn and curse.
