Good stuff men, keep it up

Solid video and commentary! Really enjoyed that...agreed you should have stuck with the initial effort and see what came of it
Glad you enjoyed it! Still kicking myself I didn't go all in
great video! What's the black number in the circle at the top of your video?
just realized you answered my question mid video
Yeah, sauce for zwift is awesome. You can really customise everything and it opens up a world of data that Zwift isn't showing
I was 5th in that race, that's cool to watch! Loved your recap! I was the "I wanna catch this guys wheel"-guy at 11:48. Damn, that was stupid of me! I kept on pushing 4-5w/kg for another 30-45secs. after the climb because I believed I created a gap. But now I'm seeing that everyone behind me was just chilling in the draft. My problem is the same: my w/kg are good enough for Cat B., but I always waste too much energy and never manage to win in Cat. C.
Very well done. How do you get the draft gauge?
nevermind. got it
@ Yeah, well worth the small patreon donation imo! His Sauce for Strava is great as well
@12:15 what is the elbow supposed to mean?
Ah the elbow is the signal to say pull a turn up front, help out
"Take your turn at the front" I suppose 😉
Hello Kiiimmmm
@@Y.Tokugawa hahaha you're everywhere 😉
Def an option on sauce for zwift to show group numbers, along with gaps and avg wattage etc.
Yeah that's what was meaning! I have the sauce onscreen next to zwift during the races/rides. Wishing Zwift would do a better job itself of showing this stuff -super useful for races
@jamesbrackcycling literally as soon as I posted, you confirmed on screen 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ great vids tho. Keep up the great work
Haha cheers mate!
My opinion: when you rolled thru some riders with 1.5km to go, I think the best option would have been to sit in with those three that you ended up leading out for a bit instead of going over the top and getting up to that rider in the front. It's not that you shouldn't consider the attacks, but being in a good position to attack or respond is gonna be the best. In general, being in the pack is percentage wise going to be your best play, but you had a small gap behind you when you got to those 3-4 in the front. I'm not opposed to you trying to do a long range attack (you can learn from just trying it) at the end but the chances of it sticking is very small - and the chances of it sticking is 0 if you don't go all in. Either way, commit to one or the other. Don't get stuck in between haha. But it can inadvertently happen too, which we know 😆 Anyhow, the finish on this one was fast and flat and the pack always has a huge advantage there. Going back to momentum, always trying to have forward momentum in the finale of the race is gonna be good. Any time you let off the power too much and start drifting back, it costs you also. Just my 50 cents, cuz I ramble...
👍
I think you're totally right. Gotta stick to one choice, or the chances are 0 ;) I'm starting to understand the feel of momentum more and more. Excited for the next one, with a HRM connected LOLZ
@@jbcycling hahaha step 0 is "pair your metrics". I fail at this step periodically 😂
Great video! Dunno if you saw mine, but I talk a lot about the idea of anticipation (which has to also do with momentum). Yes, use your momentum. I'm finding that Zwift riding emphasizes that, especially because there is a slight delay in the power reading to your avatar haha. Newman is a strong rider! I just raced with him on Big Foot Hills Zwift Epic Race - I'll have that video up soon, after I post my Stage 4 Flat is Fast Douce France video. I saw you're signed up for DBR Saturday on Pretzel! Maybe I'll do that... Not sure yet 😅
👍
Just watched. Congrats man! That was a perfect race Oof..not sure if i'll do the DBR or maybe the DIRT race (with double drafting). The DBR might be a bit much for me this weekend, i'm at the end of a 5 week block of training. Tbd
@jamesbrackcycling that's a hell of a route to tackle when you're on fatigued legs hahahaha. Don't do it unless it's in your plan!
Great vids, enjoy your commentary and good to see your journey on Zwift and how you are learning ‘Zwift craft!’ I’ve been using Zwift since May ‘24, love it and am getting better and learning new things all the time. Have dropped you a follow on Zwift and looks like we are in the same ZRS category
Mate - it’s simple. You are wasting watts. From the start. That sprint at the start that you said is a trick you are proud of is pointless. You don’t need to get ahead of a pack to the point where you need to then wait for them. Just get into the middle of the front group. Then sit slightly further back - you are too far forward. And work out when you want to attack and do it strategically not randomly. You have great power but you’re not using your head. I wish I had your watts. All the best.
Yeah, i'm starting to get a better handle on these things. Less wasted power leaves much more room to use my head, i'm finding ;) This was only like my 3rd or 4th race. Getting more and more comfortable and efficient as time goes on!
@@jbcyclingwell you’re doing fantastically- but you will get even better results by using all of those watts more cunningly!
@@HKRoad I'm too nice haha spreading the watts everywhere
@@jbcycling I wish you could spread a few in my direction lol. I’m delighted if I get under 100th place in a TdZ “race”. And I’m riding very cleverly now having made the same mistakes when I started. All the best to you as you have the chance to do really well - oh and get a Kickr Bike. Worth every penny.
@@HKRoad Oh really. Ive been torn between a Kickr Bike and the new Zwift one..That being said, I have a small room and roommates, so I like the ability to take my bike off the trainer during the summer season when I ride mostly outdoors and feel like a have a normal bedroom ;)
Cat C based on ZRS is NOT the same as Cat C based on power. Cat C ZRS = Cat B with the old system. Sucks that the cats are still labeled the same, but calculated differently.
Yeah I wish they would be clearer with this...what was wrong with the w/kg system? Like ZRS for races is getting to be very cool, and the for the rest, like group rides etc. just categories based on w/kg
Really enjoyed the commentary. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know :)

Super fun to geek around with this AI!
@@jbcycling thanks
9:20 the third race is almost always slow because people are getting tired and trying to conserve for the last race. Great job on the climb
Sprint looks great! Holding your effort almost the entire distance. If you start on your hardest gear then pedal like you’re trying to kick back while off the seat you should get more power at the start of your sprint.
Thanks for the tip! I have to get my cadence up as well, for sure..so much to remember while the HR is skyhigh
3:09 good instincts! That climb is good for breaking apart the ground
You wiggle a bit much on your bike.
It's my Zwift dance! lolz, but yeah. I think my bikefit needs a small tweak or two...
@ yeah 🤘
You should definitely consider joining team DIRT on Zwift and/or TrainingPeaks Virtual 🙌🏻
I'll check it out! Might need a kid first to join DIRT no? ;)
@ haha lol - I’m a cat dad 💁🏻♂️
13:37 definitely if you had jumped sooner you would have done a little better. You were still catching people up, meaning you had the momentum AND energy left in your legs. Live and learn, great race!
Thanks man! Yeah, I think the TRs are mentally hard too, as it's a lot to process from race to race. Gotta get my cadence up as well...keep forgetting
Have you tried racing in TrainingPeaks Virtual yet?
Keep pumping out the videos mate! Kudos to 4th!
Cheers! Excited to do more
Drafting gauge…??? Explain
Yeah that’s new to me?!
Hey guys, here's a good explanation! Basically it's an app that runs in parallel allowing you to have a more customisable setup and better data while you Zwift. ua-cam.com/video/NZNgZW6YCp0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SiBradeley
If you open up in Sauce "Riders Near By" it will give you a list of everyones stats. What I do is I look at that and sort it by w/kg. I use my placing in that list to pace myself. If you stay in top ten percent of W/kg you will always be near the front but not on the front.
Huge performance !! maybe more rpm in the sprints will help you, don't you think ?
Ahhh, I keep forgetting to work on my sprint cadence. Noted for next race! :)
Great content as always 👏
Glad you think so!
That weekend of tiny races was so much fun. Congrats on P4 overall. Looking forward to race versus you :D
Yeah super fun, thx! Look forward to it man!
Mate that was pro level race. It's been a while for me, but looks to me like a perfect race. In the sprint though you had your plan, but just 1 second before you preplanned to go they jumped. Too late, that's all it was. If you didn't give them that tiny gap the race was yours 😊
A big guy at 75 kg 😂
haha I'm 78 now after the holidays, wild what alcohol and salt can do
that grp not catC, you all have mid to high CatB output. advice learn to draft mid rear pack and watch the front and the average watts will be far lower. that kom hit it hard first ramp puase then settle in and drive it hard.
I tend to agree, but like the ZRS...I just did a Tiny Race, I'll post a video on it, and finished 4th overall on points. I only increased from 496 to 501 -_-
@ tiny races if you complete all 4 are some of the best training sessions you can complete alongside crit races in zwift. Just as in irl some forget you need to enter races for the power profile you have. In zwift you a climber/TT or a crit racer
Tennis balls on etsy = 50-60€ -- tennis balls on aliexpress = 20€ delivery fees included (guess where those from Etsy come from)
can you prove your weight in the next video please? with 182 cm you look a lot heavier than 75 kg.
great recap! HRRc is "heartrate recovery". click on the data field name in the activity header for popup descriptions.
Good race and good finish! That last climb was too much for me to stay with you and the front pack! Don't forget, this was a racing score race as opposed to a regular c race, many of the riders in the race were cat Bs, hence why your power was so high, you'll be a B in no time!
Yeah they were sending it on that last one, crazy! Thx man :) see you out there!
Level 32 starts the video saying: “I am still learning…” Me: WTF he did during the first 31 levels? Riding with a towel covering Zwift screen 😂l just left after that.
Haha I used Zwift many years ago for training but never raced. I moved to Trainer Road for a while and now I'm back training on Zwift and decided to see what racing was all about. Super fun
@ thanks for clarifying. I will give a shot to your channel. Have fun Zwifting 👍
Belle entraînement ☆☆☆
When is new video coming out?
Going to do a "Tiny Race" this Saturday. Next video soon!
@ which ones?
@@Bourne90 4pm CET on Saturday!
www.zwift.com/eu-fr/events/view/4713161
@ great, 400-540? So I can be famous on youtube🤣
Went way too late on sprint. the first guy who went on the downhill played it perfect, got the lead and then used the momentum of the downhill. everyone should have sped up at that point. You would have been top 3 if you went with like 600 metres left
there is a difference with cat and racing score .. so basicly now its fixed on zwiftpower .... they fixed the issue with the stage1 fugit with better range racing score... its a new thing ... cat is depend of your power ratio weight and zftp is the indicator of your power sustain.
Oh yeah I noticed the ranges changed a bit for the ZRacing. Seems like they're trying to get the ZRS closer to "pace group" categories?
You have B pace numbers my friend. You just need to learn to stay stable in a group and save your watts. Keep an eye on the wkg output of the other riders and adjust accordingly. Also when going down a hill you really need to output less power, because drafting gets more efficient the faster you go
Next race the goal is practice these game tactics! ZRS is still 496, so I'm going to race in my range until it bumps me up! Should give me just time I need to not blow up with the B crew
Your real rpm seems way faster than my real. I do 100 rpm normally and seem way comfortable, but you seemed bouncing across cobbles.
Haha you're sure it's not because I fast forward the video ;) Maybe i need to work on shifting on the saddle less
Next time go early,Evert second counts bravo Good job
Idk if have 1 more second ;) I was dyyyying at the end
The rocker balls are amazing for the cost! Me and you seem to be around the same level. I'm sure we will ride together some day, I'm an all rounder with a good climbing ability. I'm ok at sprinting but my legs are not 1200+w certified. 😂 Good video, very accurate.
Oh nice! Thx. Yeah man, def see you out there!
Those tennis balls will steal some watts from your sprint, but well worth it for the longer rides
Oh, you think I lose a little on the sprint due to lack of stiffness? I was thinking it might help to get that feeling of the bike moving underneath me from side to side...
Good race!!! You should stay in C, if you’re allowed
Thanks! Yeah, I think I'll learn more by staying in C for the moment, before hanging on for life in B
@ I’m at 3,7 w/kg already at B and it is hard!!!
Great video
