last weekend of fun now we suffer through summer
Having dogs saves you so much walking am jealous
@@staticmtz5114 I still had about 10 the first and 9 miles the second day, but yeah they point me in the right direction. I would never hunt without them. Thanks for the comment
Those rocks look like ankle busters
@@jackrobinson7465 they sure can be
Does the camera make the terrain look flatter than it is? Nice dogs
Yeah a little bit, but I hunt with the elderly so we hit more eazy hills
Great chukar hunt! 🔥 Lots of birds out there…
Seems like awful flat and gentle country for chukar! What you need is gale force wind, steep terrain with jagged boulders and slimy mud. That’s how I like to hunt. 😂
@@bt7843 what you describe sounds like a great place and weather to hunt in, I'll have to find me some of that😆
Sorry the camera work is not better got rusty since last year
Lol at the rusty part. I Don't have a laptop to reach you. Give a minute.
@1776cootsflybynight do you edit on your phone?
@Fetchem_Up comments or vid's? Comments yes, video are exactly how they are recorded on the go pro.
@@1776cootsflybynight oh that's what you mean by raw. Some vids could use a little trimming. Must be nice though no editing, I threatened to kill computer mine daily.
@Fetchem_Up dude, we got alot in common. I only post my videos so a few older guys I know can watch. They don't even understood how dumb technology is lol
Good hunt man great 👍 keep the videos coming
What shotgun and Gauge are you using for Chukar?
@@erniemadrid1739 franchi affinity 3 In 12ga, the best gauge.
love that you hunt chukar with Labs! looking to get one myself soon for quail, and hope chukar... this is encouraging! Is this Northern CA, on the NV border? Doesn't look Mojave.... love the vids. subscribed!
@@bgreen122873 We are some of the only guys doing it with Labs. But I highly recommend. some of the pointer guys will look down upon you. If it's your first dog just letting you know Labs get a bad rap for being hyper and annoying but Mine are the opposite but they get exercised daily and live in our house. And they are the best thing I own!
Great picture
Great video! I’m glad you got into them
@@gethooked9925 Thanks. It was actually a bit of a struggle they weren't cooperating. Congrats on your first bird.
@ we all have those days! It was nice seeing all of your labs with you. Thank you 🙏🏻
How long do your labs last in a chukar hunt day? Utah Idaho or Nevada?
@@greghoffman3146 Thank you I've been waiting months for somebody to ask. I typically walk between 8 and 11 Miles and they hunt hard the whole time. On a camping trip we will hunt 3 days in a row and they are more than willing to do a fourth, me not so much. When they get foot issues it's because of crusty snow.
@@Fetchem_Up Was going to say their feet must do pretty good over the lava rock for how much they've been out there. Figured it's a combination of good pads and that they're not running like jackasses full speed everywhere.
@@TheRoamingHazard We play fetch year round on a gravel road and yes they do less miles but still cover them thoroughly.
@@Fetchem_Up I figured you had to have them do rough stuff on the regular just by how much they've been out with you on that lava rock. No grass pads for your labs. 👍
@@TheRoamingHazard No grass pads but they have a 4 inch memory foam mattress inside the house, spoiled.
It's hilarious how much you bitch about quail. 😂
I try to keep it tame but they're little , mushy, and seems like a waste of ammo but they're delicious.
It's been cool watching your videos! What GoPro model are you using?
@@joshuamyers34 Thanks, I'm using an insta360 one RS but I plan on upgrading to a DJI action 5
@ oh I will have to check those out. I am just using an old GoPro hero 4 that my brother gifted me.
@ 18:31 😂 good hunt
Hey! Great job!!!! Very nice seeing labs out working on chukars, and the dogs are doing a great job. Ive hunted with retrievers for 4 decades. But I have have killed them with my wife's cocker and even took a couple with her latest dog a doberman! dont need no stinking pointers!!!! Curious about Ca regs, how many shells can you have in the gun? And Im assuming you are non toxic shot? What loads are you using? And lastly, I see a synthetic fore grip and a wood stock. You're rational for that?. I have the same on my Berettas, my wood stocks are what I would call semi custom. Again, thanks for taking the time to film and edit this for us!!.
@@bryanturner683 Thanks, labs work great for us. Ca is 3 shells. The ammo is 3inch #4 steel going 1550 fps. My wood forearm broke the second trip out so I took my brothers because we have the same one, and he got a camo set because black synthetic are almost non-existent. And at this point I don't care but I do like this Franchi.

@@antoninobuttitta2343 thanks buddy. But I have to disagree I do not like the way Pointer hunt. I will never be forced to flush my own bird, that's what the dog is for. The birds were jumping wild and a pointer would not have helped. It was a little chaotic because I've never hunted with thunk before.
Great job out there!!! 🤘🏽
@@outdoorsroyalty thanks, sure is fun

Man seeing the chocolate lab takes me back. That was the dog I had from 12 to college. We hunted everything. If I shot it she found it. I was so spoiled. Thanks for sharing.
@@jakef1977 He's my first chocolate and he's pretty special to us, especially after he got rattlesnake bit his first season.
Looks like a fun trip I used to hunt chukar with our Labs but after a 20 plus year break i am now hunting with a Brittany. Thanks for sharing
@@jakef1977 Thanks for watching and the comment. I could never switch to a pointer I like the labs too much.
@Fetchem_Up yep I get what your thinking. I grew up with labs and hunted over them for years. I've also hunted over Brittanys and now that I have my own I can't imagine going back. She already covers so much ground at 6 months old and points and we are working on retrieves I have 5 trips on her and she is a rock star. Maybe one day we will run into you. I know roughly where you hunt and we hunt pretty close to it.
@@jakef1977 I'm glad you're Brittany's doing good. I've hunted around GSP's and English pointers I don't care for that kind of hunting. Last year our 5 month old yellow was finding and retrieving birds from her own covey's. It's always the best the first couple of trips when it clicks.
I forgot to say we are pretty easy to spot we're the only guys out there with 5 labs. See you around.
@@Fetchem_Up cool!! 5 Labs is awesome we used to take 2 out. If I see 5 Labs running around I'll swing over to say hi. We have a small channel and film also. My buddy said you hunt near us. We will be out this next Sunday for a day trip. Then I'm taking the last 2 weeks of December off to Chukar hunt so maybe we'll bump into each other.
Good God man! Where the hell are you that there are that many quail! I haven't seen that many in one place ever out here in Nevada. Clearly I'm in the wrong places.
@@prmirage thanks! all I can tell you is now with weather that's a 6-hour drive. I can't seem to stay away from them. I wouldn't even shoot them but my dog would have a meltdown.
The action is a lot more intense with labs
Great video, I hunt the same areas with a black lab. A lot of people say labs aren’t chukar dogs, and sure I might not get into as many coveys as my buddies with a pointer, but I can tell you he has retrieved more down birds than any of my buddies dogs. Great hunting, love seeing lab’s being hunted and proving the pointing purists wrong
@@VonHoofla1 yeah a lot of people can't imagine using lab's for chukar, that's why I'm here to spread awareness of LAB supremacy. Nothing better than Pointer purist tears. And don't sell yourself short they always tend to over-inflate their numbers. JK😁
This might be the best one yet
You always get these cool shots with them flying at you! I had a thought watching your vid now... can you get a limit in one state and then go to the next state and still hunt??? Or is there something that says no that's a naughty thing?
@@TheRoamingHazard the only thing is that you'd have to fill out a affidavit to bring game across the border. So if you kill the limit in California you have to fill out one to go into Nevada, and then have an affidavit for the Nevada birds to come to California. Was that confusing? And you're supposed to have four affidavits copies. I thought about that then but I didn't want to fill out that many affidavits.
@@Fetchem_Up No that makes sense. The more I was thinking about it I figured you would have to make some sort of declaration, tag the birds somehow, or something. And the way game laws work video/pics, and a bread crumb feature might also not be a bad idea.
He's probably cleaned over a thousand birds

Pick up your empties
@@PECKSPEDITION I sure try to pick them up but some times I just can't find them. I pick up everybody else's and there water bottle's and cans, don't forget the balloons I find one of those almost every time.
Picking up empties is low priority.keeping eye on downed birds and retrieving them comes first Jack. Most hunters bring out way trash than they take in.
@ this is so ignorant. Let’s leave our trash on the land we have access to hunt our birds. So that we no longer have access to hunt on it. Good job man, way to respect the land and make hunters look good.
@justinpeck2201 I'd have to say your the ignorant one. Obviously you've never hunted wild chukar or you don't get many, if you're even a hunter. I'm the last person you can get after for leaving trash. I'm always picking up stuff from other people. Many times I've gotten after people for littering. But I'm not going to lose a bird because I'm looking for a near impossible thing to find in the rock and grass. So that being said these guys posting videos don't want to leave their empties but sometimes that's the way it is. So keep your whining to yourself Karen.
I have motion sickness now. But it looks like you had a gpod time.
I understand what you're saying. I'll try to do better but I'm no cameraman. Thanks for watching.
