The Karabee ended up at Gosford on the Central Coast NSW as a floating restaurant but was later broken up and scrapped. Some parts are rumoured to be at Somersby.

Wells Street in East Gosford on the Central Coast is named in honour of Willam Henry Wells the surveyor. He surveyed East Gosford in 1840.

Thank you for an interesting lecture. My GGG Grandfather was a 14-year-old drummer boy from the 57th Regiment, Thomas Key, on The Hooghley in 1825, escorting convicts from Cork to Sydney. Many of those convicts I surmise were kept on The Surprize before departure. I have ordered the book which I look forward to reading.

My grandfather jhon roberts was a telegraphist in the darwin post office he was charged of the darwin telephone exchange of the morse code on the overland telegraph line and to help with the communications with the defense of darwin 19th feb 1942

The Lady Denman is now a museum display at Huskisson where she was built. It worked from 1912 to 1979 as a Sydney Ferry.
