What do I do if the plug to the actuator isn’t getting fire at all put a test light on it and nothing I made sure I had a good ground on the test light
Good video, but quite a bit of heavy breathing lol.
Great video, just ran thru this video for my 250 hour hydro fluid change, the breather bolt took an 11/16" socked. Also, I just kept topping off the fill tanks until I seen an oil puddle on the floor. Used almost 5 quarts for both hydros. Slow as Christmas coming to fill. Also I like how this gentleman mentions keeping the belt clean so you dont ka-nock the belt off.
You can check continuity on the actuator plug, OL means new actuator; while you're there you can also check for 12v on the plug with the key on - when the 4wd fuse blows its usually a short to ground which is also 90% of the time the actuator.
When the actuator doesn't blow the fuse you can "repair" them. You need to remove the boot and soak it in atf for a few minutes. Once you work the atf through it it'll work again, sometimes for a long while
Okay mouth breather.
What is that big white connector go to? What is it called? Mine is disconnected ( needs to be replaced ) it’s all covered in oil an broken It’s a 4 prong
Another video by this guy
This guy is crazy don't listen to him
He's dope, you're wack. 😊
Word to the wise about air bleeding the system. Repeat the steps for bleeding system in the manual several times while machine is up on jacks. Note: with bypass released I repeated 1st procedure 5 times. Each time shutting off machine and checking reservoir. You will see air bubbles in reservoir. Continue process until no more bubbles and add oil as necessary. Then with bypass ingauged ( 2nd procedure )repeat process several times , shut off machine check reservoirs for bubbles and level each time. Do 2nd procedure about five times because first time no buddles for me , second time bubbles and lower fluid. Once completed with no bubbles and proper oil level take machine for short run, working the levers a lot. Check reservoirs. I found that they still bleed a little and I had to add oil. From then on keep eye on fluid each run. I think the key is in bleeding system is oil temp. as gets hotter expands and bleeds more until all the air is out. YES , it's a PAIN , but better than repair cost.
Good Job, Thanks for video
Nice step by step video 👍
I almost sold mine for $300 I only paid $400 for it drove it for 4 years
I wonder where the fuse is in my 88. I hope it's not a fusible link.
Thanks for the info exactly what my issue was
not a mikuni carb. 1980 went to the butterfly carbs
It's marked mikuni mic koyogo I have the same sled and carb
I replaced the actuator and I’m getting fire to the plug and I took the actuator out while it was plugged to make sure for a fact that it was working pushing in and out the light by the stick is on telling me it’s engaged but it’s definitely not engaged what do I do
Great video and thanks for taking your time to really show all of the little deals that it takes to change the oil in the hydro's. As mentioned the manual does a poor job and no where could I find how much oil was needed. I have changed other zero-turn hydro oils and it is a good practice to run the machine slowly front/backwards to purge the air out. It can take sometime when filling so be patient
Hello. Thanks for the video. Question, do you know what happens if the reservoirs get over filled. I'm dealing with one that the hydro oil is running out as fast as I pour it in. It's doing the same on both sides where the hydro hose attaches to the pump housing. The owner ( a friend) said after mowing she found a pool of oil on the floor under the mower. Both reservoirs were empty.
Very helpful, thank you for taking the time to walk through a hydraulic fluid change.
Thanks from another WI guy. I appreciate your help! Taking the time to post etc. As you might imagine. 1990 3500 dually is helpless in slick March WI! Andy
Thanks for the post! I couldn't find the vent holes until I saw this video.
Great Job - I am about to change it for the first time - Because of this I feel good about tackling it - Thank You Again!
How did it go? Any problems?
So Doug, what if my 4x4 fuse keeps popping??
Nice job / Very helpful !
What is the best process to shift these trucks into 4wd. I bought one for a farm vehicle and this is the first one that I have had with a floor shift.
I think you're not supposed to shift in or out above 45 MPH. And I've heard you shouldn't shift into 4WD when stopped (but I'm not certain that's true). Just be rolling (coasting) and if you have an automatic, shift to neutral first.
Thank you so much for this video! Chilton's manual was a complete waste of time and money! Your UA-cam video was so helpful! My truck is an '88. Nobody nowadays knows anything about something older than they are! Keep It Stupid Simple, KISS is my best theme. Update on my situation: my truck has no fuse in the fuse block. Chilton's manual has nothing on the 4x4 system at all! No wiring diagram, no diagnostics, nothing!
Thanks for taking the time to show this. I'm pretty mechanicaly minded but it helps to find the location of this stuff. I blow mine out every time I use it. Ive only just purchased the IS600. The price they go for in Australia is crazy, so its worth keeping on top of this stuff. Like $100 for belts! outragous.
Thank you! Go Packers
thanks man
Thanks
thank you. inerestimg and useful ('89 sierra k1500) i gadda get under it !
Anyone have this problem before
On my isz700 I have one side will turn and one wont. I noticed the fan on right side top of transaxle doesn’t want to move
Thank you for this video,, made my repair so easy when I found a blown 15amp fuse where the 25amp fuse should be
Would you recommend using drive on ramps to get the back end up? The ramps I have are about 8-10" high. Or would that leave too much fluid in the trans?
Will a loose tensioner also cause some vibrations ?
Thanks for the video. Very informative, and it was fun to see your truck. I have the exact same year, make, model, and paint scheme.
Thank you. I would have never found that vent plug. The owners manual wasn’t even close!
So simple even a caveman can do it😇
You should buy a Cub cadet and you won't have problems like that
hi Doug, You are the best. Great video on exactly the problem I was having. It was also exactly what needed to me replaced. THANK YOU for doing this. You are wonderful.
Do you know how to jump the kill switch? I have a 80 A/C Trail cat with the same switch. Having a spark issue but seems the coil and CDI are good
I have changed that and it still doesn't engage the light comes on when I put it out n 4 low it acts like it goes in but the front won't spin
replaced the differential actuator and found out the reason it kept blowing fuses! thanks
Got the same sled but a little beat up I wish I wouldn’t of beat it up so bad she still runs mint but needs lots of love. Grate video man thanks for the info
Great video, many thanks, manual didn’t disclose way to vent.
Thank you
1995 Chevy Silverado four wheel stick on the floor. When I bought the thing used, I did the normal parking lot test yesterday to see if the four-wheel high and four-wheel low worked. Yesterday was my first opportunity to put it into four-wheel high it engage then while driving 1000 to 3000 rpm I put the shifter to neutral then put the floor stick to 4 lo it engage properly when I’m trying to put it back on 2h my floor lever stock on NEUTRAL, Tried putting the shifter on neutral position (engine running)then tried to manually shift it to 2h or 4h or 2l still not working..still lock on neutral I’m worried coz every time I forced it I hear gear grinding noise so right now the truck is not moving.aNy idea what could be my issue? Help pls..trying to figure out by myself before spend money on mechanic.thank you
The trans case shifter fork has nylon slides that wear out... and that lets the engagement gear to float back and forth.... watch a few rebuild vids and youll see this is a problem cause by shifting on the fly. I found pieces of nylon in my oil. Hope this helps
Worked for me! Checked power by checking power with key on and put in 4hi, had power. Bought actuator and it's fixed. thanks
