I was so looking forward to seeing Ash catch at least one of the three Paldean starters (especially since he never caught any of the Galarian starters), but since Ash and Pikachu won't be appearing in the Gen 9 Pokemon anime, it looks like we're just gonna have to see which Pokemon the two new Protagonists ends up with and what will happen to the third starter.
