Digging a for the dump bucket installation. The dump bucket is an independent no pump inground septic system for RVs.
what is the adaptor you are putting on the tank for an inlet? thanks!
just have to Go to your local RV store and you can get an adapter for it.
My 40gallon black tank going into a 5 gal bucket…
40gal of sh*t crammed in a 5 gal bucket
Check your local laws were permitted. Look at your outhouse laws also where permitted same thing.
It could last for years and years works very well
What are you calling tile? Is it just black hose?
When you say "tile" do you mean that pipe? I'm confused.
Yes he means the drain line when he says tile. Farmers that are draining their fields use the word tile because the drain lines used to be big clay tiles the water could flow through like a pipe.
Good reply Home Depot 4 inch corrugated perforated tile.
WTF!!!
Not yet 💩💩💩💩💩
A hole in the ground with som plywood over it would be better
What kind of rock used and what are other recommendations for rock?
Recommended is one and a half inch holes in the bucket so you want to have rock this 2 inches or better. So I don't get stuck in the bucket
How's it been working? And any odors longterm?
it's been going great the only slight smell you do indicate is when you open up the gray in a black water and you have the air forcing through the line into the bucket as soon as that's done the smell goes away instantly.
Great idea for gray water not black water !
Not a joke, what happens to the poop? Doesn’t it form sludge?
The gray and black water pulverizes the solids blows it through the holes and keeps on repeating unless your ground gets saturated with water.
How long can a bucket septic last?
Can I make it deeper, or should I keep it shallow? Where do you get the RV dump bucket?
Where do you get the bucket? Do you have a link?
Run of the mill water tank, I think 13 gallons.
@@wrybread
Wanting to use a 55 gallon drum for shed conversion hope this solves my issues
do it right you can use it for a very long time
horrible idea smells and is pain in ass
What do I use to put my sewer line onto the lid? Is there adapter to put in a cut hole?
Yes you just have to go to the local RV store and you can find adapters for that.
I can’t help but to feel this is going to smell horrible and contaminate the soil in the surrounding areas?
It is just like a standard septic system in your backyard if you know anything about them. No smell no problem.
@@briansimpson6630 wrong standard system in your yard has leach field and much much much larger tank so I guess you have no idea about a septic system maybe your talking just a hole in the ground like an outhouse the septic system of our ancestors
I tried to make my own, didnt drian fast enough...
Use inch and a half holes for the bucket. And you have to have plenty of stone around it so I can disappear.
The the volume absolutely sucks can't hear a damn thing you're saying
I hear it loud and clear. Go get your ears checked.
😂😂
How often do you use the RV restroom/shower/sink, etc.? What kind of use could this support? Can you use the restroom freely? (i.e. pooo)
Yes you can use the restroom Fraley. I have customers that use this very same bucket for an Airbnb once a week he will dump a couple hundred gallons gray and black water through it. Works fine
Where does the toilet paper and poo go? Is this just for shower water and pee?
If you are using the proper treatment in your tank, it will break everything down. Then it being pushed into the bucket with the water pressure, it gets pulverized and breaks down further. However, the treatment you put in your tank, such as "happy campers holding tank treatment", will break everything down. It all just then gets absorbed into the ground.
Need a good treatment RV Digest It works extremely well. I've used Happy Camper before as well but I like RV DigestIt treatment pods or liquid form.
Check your local laws it is just like a septic system you can use gray or black water everything gets pulverized with the gray and black water and blows through the holes and dissipates.
What size bucket did you use?
I have a five bucket to a 55 gallon bucket
@@briansimpson5409 where can I buy one?
This is a very nice option for my rv dilemma. Hopefully it's worth a try! Thanks
Definitely not legal. Won't work. The smell will be horrible, but good job for the click bait to get views.
Check your local laws it would be just like an old house. Does work. Obviously you don’t know anything about Septic Systems or how they work. While the water is running through the hose into the Dump Bucket you can smell it within a minute or two no snow it’s all underground. And I don’t look for clicks I just help people out.
Works fantastic, thx
It is legal depending where your at! And this type of system has been in place long before current septic systems and does not smell if covered with the appropriate amount of dirt!
Check your local laws. Works fantastically it’s been tried and proven customers love it. No smell just like a septic system in your own backyard it’s all underground. Click bait don’t need it.
Also I would think y'all should be using something like "happy camper holding tank treatment" which removes the smell anyways. Each treatment is only like 75 cents and treats 40 gallons. Why would you smell crap to save 75 cents?!
Not sad, ever hear of a composting toilet? Some nice thrones, and you can fertilize a nice row of Cypress trees, for a wind break. Or some other none food tree, biodegradable soaps and shampoo can drain into the yard. Solar and those rooftop wind turbines for power on sunny or windy days, homesteading it totally green if you want it to be.
we use a homemade composting toilet that has a urine separator. Been using it for 3 years now and love it. The urine runs out from a pipe into a graywater system like shown in this video. All solid waste goes in a bag in a bucket, and then we cover it with sawdust. We dump it once a week into a compost out back, and have 3 large bins that we cycle every year. Every year, the 3rd year bin gets used for ornamental plants and trees around the property. The toilet has a 12v computer fan that pushes any air from inside the bucket out through a vent to the outdoors. There is no smell in the house, and we make great compost for shrubs and trees! :D Highly recommend doing it this way if you can in your area.
and when it pours down heavy rain, it over flows and stink to high heaven.
When installed correctly this is never an issue.
Why would it stink? Do you not treat your sewage? You should be using something like "happy campers holding tank treatment". Then there is no smell. Plus it breaks down everything quicker which allows it to absorb into the ground quicker as well.
I dont care what you put in your tank, there is always a smell.
Where do I get the dump bucket like that?
You can contact me at 512-461-2760 or text. Thanks for the inquiry Brian Simpson

How long did this system run? Thanks for sharing your system!
This particular 5 Gallon Dump bucket in soil that doesn’t drain hardly at all it takes a while to drain so therefore it gets saturated quicker. It Lasted roughly 8 months. Then I put the 15 gallon Dump Bucket in there with an exterior tile and trench in the same area. That should last a year plus with soil that doesn’t drain very well. All you have to do on that one to make it last a lot longer as extend the tile further with more stone. If you did a 3 x 3 x 4 area dug it out put the 15 gallon dump bucket in the middle of it that should roughly take 270 gallons at one time depending on the soil and the way it drains would determine when you could dump the whole 270 gallons again at one time.
@@briansimpson5409 Thanks Definitely I’ll try that
Thank you for sharing !!!!
😎
Any size stone bigger than the holes in the dump bucket
What size rock did you use?
Any size rocks bigger than the holes in the Dump Bucket
I'm having a hard time understanding how that drainage pipe is helping it drain better. And is this literally just a hole with no trench and leech lines? I'm guessing it gets full after awhile from the poop?
The drain pipe is roughly 14 feet long that I curled up in the hole that adds a capacity of about 12 gallons of water and holds all that does is extend more water in the same area. I’ve got a 16 minute video www.rvdumpbucket.com it’ll show you everything from start to finish thank you
You have a website or anything to see pricing etc?

Hi nice build. What exactly does the black tube inside the hole do? Grab the water that flows up top back down ?
That’s a flexible 3 inch tile that goes to any RV and attaches onto the Dump bucket. Just transfers the black and gray water to the bucket which goes in the bucket and the stone that’s around it in the hole underground. I’ve got a longer video that shows everything 16 minutes long roughly go to WWW RV dump bucket and you can review their thank you.
This is the most unsanitary thing I've ever seen! What are you supposed to do with the open hose sticking out of the ground when it's not in use? Not to mention it's function is completely dependent upon proper soil drainage. If you have heavy clay soil, this will never work, and it will only work in good soil as long as there had not been any recent, heavy, soaking rains. Then, there is the inevitable fly and mosquito problems that the constantly wet spot will eventually cause. There's a reason septic systems start at over 100 gallons capacity and go up, plus being buried much deeper than this shallow thing.
@Texas Pond Lake Tank Construction Are you supposed to add anything to the effluent to help digest the solids?
Totally agree, this is a bad idea, very unsafe shallow sewer discharge will containminate the soil and smell. This guy is actually selling people his plan for this? Wow people do some research on your own.
Thank you for your interest in the dump bucket. This system works with any of type of soil. In areas of heavy clay, the hole can be dug a little wider with additional more pea stone added around the bucket. Surface water with this system. I have this system installed for a few customers in and around the Austin area, no complaints. To make it a little easier for you to understand the concept, think of it as the outhouse.
I’ve found no need to add.
Thank you for your interest in the dump bucket. To make this easier for you to understand, think of it as an outhouse. This is for independent RV living, these systems aren’t for a 3200 square-foot house. Many people not only in and around Texas, but in other areas, rent RVs or RV spaces on their private property. This is a perfect, inexpensive solution for these types of living situations.
Can I use it for black waste water and what about the toilet paper?
Yes you can the toilet paper gets pulverized by the water rushing into the dump bucket
