Seeing this preformed live last night was the highlight of the night.

"And your changin' heart doesn't change all the love it once had." I love that. Very beautifully said. Something I have learned is that love is something we choose, and choose to cultivate. My husband and I chose to protect and cultivate our relationship in a deliberate way when we were dating (I was the one who wasn't sure at first) and I am so glad we did. We may not always "feel" in love, or all of the fireworks that sometimes accompany infatuation, but I don't think real love always looks like that. Sometimes love is something more quiet and steady. Like the seed of a plant that we can choose to cultivate into fruition. And, like a plant, it goes through moments of summer bloom and winter hibernation, but that doesn't change the reality of the seed and of its rightful place in the garden. Thank you for sharing, Shawn Hess. You are a talented songwriter.
