I have a tax question and need clarification regarding if I lived in my home for over two years as a personal residence, made repairs and sold it. Therefore, I can claim proceeds as a capital gains - correct? Considering, that I never provided business services, used the home as a business office, or deemed it as an investment to collect rent for monthly income. Therefore, the IRS will not clasify proceeds, from the sell of a home, as ordinary income, generated from a business - correct?
