I have been using WIDI Uhost from you for many months. I have a question, maybe you can help me. Well, on a Windows 10 computer, WIDI recently started showing up immediately in midi programs however, in Windows 11 it must be found by the Bluetooth LE Explorer program and then connected via another program, e.g. MIDIberry - this is not a problem for me, but I noticed that if WIDI does not receive a signal for about 2 minutes, it then delays the sending of the next signal - as if it goes to rest, and therefore the next signal is delayed. Hello CME! :) I'm trying to use two WIDI Jacks with a LuminiteFX Graviton M2 MIDI controller. They recently updated their firmware to provide "central" mode for Bluetooth MIDI and while I can connect to the two WIDI Jacks when using central mode, they do not seem to respond to MIDI messages. Both WIDI Jacks have the static, darker blue LED on to indicate they're connected, but don't flicker in response to MIDI messages. I'm trying to use each of them to send MIDI to MIDI In inputs on two different devices. In 'peripheral' mode (on the Graviton) a single WIDI Jack works fine. It autoconnects to the Graviton and shows the brighter, static light blue LED which flickers in response to MIDI messages, as expected. I've updated firmware on the WIDI Jacks and also tried to set up a group in the app, but it seems a 'central' WIDI jack is required to make this work, and I'm trying to make the Graviton act as the central host. Any suggestions to get this working, or am I misunderstanding what these gizmos can do? Thank you! :)
@@mirthkon if you want to set the M2 as a central, it must have the ability to connect to multiple Bluetooth MIDI devices. This is offered by WIDI, but I am not sure if the M2 can do that. In any way, if you do not set your WIDI devices to ‘force peripheral’ mode, they are likely pairing to each other instead of your M2. So, the central role, requires also the ability to configure connections like WIDI does. You must figure this out at the M2 side, the WIDI devices are not the issue. If you need personal assistance, feel welcome to reach out via www.cme-pro.com/support/#tve-jump-183922d36ae Or drop a post in facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans Hope this helps 😊👍
@@CMEPro Thanks so much for the swift reply! Yes, the M2--in theory--recently added Central mode specifically for connecting to multiple Bluetooth devices, and I am able to connect to multiple WIDI Jacks but for some reason they don't actually respond to incoming MIDI messages. I also have the WIDI Bud and was able to create a group using it as "Central" and plugged it into the M2's USB Host port and it works great, but obviously this isn't relying on the M2's native Bluetooth support now, which is ok but ideally I could forgo this method. Something about the M2's central mode I guess, which is still quite new. Perhaps I'm still misunderstanding, but is it true that WIDI Jacks in Peripheral mode will only pair with another WIDI product in Central mode? Not 3rd party? Your reply suggests 3rd party should work... but afaik the M2's central mode doesn't have much re: configuration options. Anyways, I'll follow up via your support channel as needed, already getting too long here! :D Thanks again!
@@mirthkon WIDI devices can connect to 3rd party devices as a central. That should not be an issue on the WIDI side. I think when you contact our support, the internal expert can assist you in getting it right.

The Yamaha YH-WL500 can get loud with minimal clipping and no hiss, but they are unusable due to interference / audio dropouts with any Wi-Fi router in the vicinity. The AIAIAI TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ have minimal issues with interference, but they don't get loud, they clip easily, and they have a significant hiss problem. The ultimate product (for me, at least) would be one with the best of both these headphones' features (that is, minimal clipping, loud signal, no hiss, and no interference). Will iWA be such a solution? (I just heard about CME and registered)
@@rombsix what we are currently looking at is a tx/rx solution that can make your wired headphone go wireless. You can use your favorite headphone, and we can make it wireless. That is the first idea 💡
@@CMEPro - that sounds great, but the problem is there would still be a cable between the rx and the headset (the actual cans). In that case, some of the wireless IEMs that already exist would be serving a similar function, no? I get it, that your tech will be more affordable than the pro level IEMs that cost in the thousands of dollars, but there would still be the hassle of a belt-pack and the hassle of the cable going from the belt-pack (i.e. the rx) to the cans / earbuds that are in contact with the user's head / ears. What I like about the Yamaha and the AIAIAI solutions is that they are truly cable-free, so just a short cable from the audio interface to the tx, and zero cables on or near the body of the musician (and no belt-packs but rather just the headset that has all the rx tech inside the headband). Can we dream of such innovation from CME in the future? Basically, it would be the current Yamaha product minus the interference (I know, that is one of the two hearts of the matter). After extensive testing, I had to return the Yamaha headphones (after purchasing them twice and not being able to get rid of the dropouts) and accept the limitations of the AIAIAI headphones. With the AIAIAIs, there are zero dropouts, rarely (if any) pops/crackles, and the audio quality is acceptable, but yeah, clipping issues, signal is not loud enough, and that damn hiss... Save us, CME! :P
@@rombsix we take this step by step. First the core technology, followed by integrations like you propose. So, yes it is possible we will go into that direction. The idea is, HD audio, without latency, without interference 😊
@@CMEPro - I will be waiting *VERY* patiently. Please let me know how I can support you in this process (other than registering, engaging like this, and spreading the word, etc.) - thank you! :)

how much power does this draw - need a large battery bank or small battery for a 4 hour gig?
@@crabbydad8931 the power consumption of WIDI devices is really low. Make sure you have a power bank that does not have a sleep mode, as those will think there is no device attached, because the power consumption is so low, and turn themselves off. These things are PURE GARBAGE!!! I've never had to waste so much time on something that refuses to work. The only thing they sync to is the computer, once the Bluetooth is back on. I've made Groups, I've deleted Groups and tried Auto-Learn. I've followed every instruction...PURE GARBAGE!!!!
I am sorry to hear this has happened and you’ve had this bad experience. I can totally understand this leads to much frustration. Creating groups is an advanced feature, it requires the execution of the entire scenario. We always recommend to explore options in simple mode first, to get a better understanding of what WIDI can do for you, and only expand to an advanced setup based on that experience. In group mode, a tiny bit of latency us added to keep a stable jitter. I am not sure I understand your explanation entirely, but it reads like this might cause the issue at your side. If the problem still persists, reach out for some personal guidance via: www.cme-pro.com/support/#tve-jump-183922d36ae Also, check out the online start guide for WIDI Uhost: www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost-start-guide-bluetooth-midi-usb-host/ Hope this helps 🙏
trying to use widi uhost to connect my amplifier katana boss mk2 50w im powering my widi and it won’t connect to the katana librarian app whats happening?
Please make sure you update your WIDI Uhost to the latest Bluetooth firmware v225 There was a bug in v224 for BOSS devices. They require an extra piece od code. This is now fixed. Apologies for the issue, it should be solved now. Feel welcome to reach out via www.cme-pro.com/support/#tve-jump-183922d36ae if you require more assistance 🙏
@@CMEPro i’ve got all the latest firmware all updated and it still won’t connect it’s frustrating i bought the device solely for this purpose and i cannot use it
@@ryanberry6780 did you use a USB OTG cable between your Uhost and Katana?

@@CMEPro no because the otg cable is a printer type cable, my katana doesn’t have that it’s been replaced for a standard type c port so instead of the otg on the amp it’s type c so i’m powering the widi with a type c and connecting the widi to the amp using a type c to type c cord, the app is recognising the device and it has a green light but is refusing to connect
Can i use this to connect my casio privia 1100 that was built in midi to windows and ableton without the casio app?
If your Casio offer Bluetooth MIDI it should be able to connect wirelessly to Windows with WIDI Bud Pro. Personally I am not familiar with your hardware or with the Casio App, but feel welcome to reach out via www.cme-pro.com/support/#tve-jump-183922d36ae or via facebook.com/groups/cmeprofans to get your answes!
Widi uhost only works once then plan on buying a different Bluetooth device
Not sure what you are exactly saying, but it seems you require some additional assistance to get your setup up and running. Feel welcome to explain your exact setup so I can assist you properly. If you have had it working, it will work again.
Is there anyway to get it to actually update the firmware? Mine is stuck on V1.4 and will not update no matter how many times I try. It simply stays in bootloader mode, when I hit upgrade and it says success and disconnect it literally does the same thing in a loop. This is driving me insane, I need help please. I literally cannot get it to actually update the Firmware and get out of Bootloader

@@midisynthminds I think there was an issue with the firmware, it is fixed by processing a special sysex. If you experience a similar issue, simply reach out via support 🙏
@@CMEPro Resolved by setting device to factory defaults and then reloading the firmware.
