You should be showing the clamping mechanism and how it's attached.

I like and need this jig. I'm building one based on Izzy's and will now add yours to my "inspired by" list. Gonna build two, as well. Good stuff.

I just got the 24" one and wanted to see why mine seems to be out of square before I send it back thanks for your help. Darren TX

Try disassembling it and when you reassemble it use a square or piece of stock that you know is square to reference it before you tighten the screws. Mine fit very snug in the slot and had to be tightened to seat. Idk if yours was the same. Trial and error if it doesn't square up for you don't waste time get a replacement. You could've gotten one that was defective. If you got it on Amazon call them or use the app it's easy. It's just frustrating when you buy something you want it to work. I have both the 12" and 24" both are dead on. Thanks!

Thank you for this review. I appreciated that you made a comparison to the Kreg jig, but what about that other similar looking jig (to the GoingMake) on the table? I see several other jigs here on UA-cam, and I'm wondering if they all are simply rebrands of the same jig.

Hey thanks for liking my video! The other jig yes is similar but it doesn't have all the features of GoingMake one. Yes there are similar ones out there and they all do the same thing, but I was impressed with the versatility and quality of the GoingMake. I don't think you can go wrong. But that's just my opinion.

You are installing the screw from the wrong side. The upright board should be turner around end for end so you are driving the screws from the outside.

That was 120. If your chisels aren't too bad you can touch them up with higher grits. It makes short work.

I was just looking at getting a electric sander. I was questionable since it was a China tool. I have had much luck in my industry. Metal and wood custom fabrication in the Shipyards. You did a really nice demonstration of this product. It would be nice to see a long term review.

I bought the jig and set everything up but my drill press has too much runout. It’s an older ridgid and they don’t make replacement spindles anymore. I put everything on my lathe and made new jigs and it’s working fine

Cool shop & great video. Since the channel seems to be starting I'm going to give you some feedback. I'm going to infer from the footage you have only one camera with wide lens and a basic mic. The lens is a good choice since it shows more, but a longer lens (something in the 50mm range) would help with some shots. I see a lot of transitions with voiced instructions but I've see towards the end you've done voice over. I think those could help you make tighter videos. This project has a lot of "one pass" shots, so might not be the best example, but with projects with more repetition I encourage you to make different shots. It might take more time but gives more options in editing. Also, from time to time experiment with "beauty" shots instead of "showing what is happening". That style is better suited with voice over, in that regard, the time you loose during filming will be recovered as is quite easier to do voiceover after the projects has ended. I'll subscribe and see how this channels grow. In any case, great video all around. Thanks for sharing.
