I'm looking for a machine that is durable, will last long, NO screen/lcd or any other unnecessary electronics (they break, i don't need them, just want simple), has automatic needle-threader, has top-loading bobbin and uses plastic class-15 bobbins. Has all the basic stitches and stretch-stitch for elastics. I'm considering Singer Heavy Duty 4452, as I will need to sew through leather and jeans occasionally. But I heard Singers break a lot (local sewing repair shop told me). Any suggestions pretty please?

@sntalxndr do you notice on the last one, there are gaps with no stitches… what is going on there, is that part of this stitch or is the machine skipping stitches?

It's not lying, men just don't wear their jeans correctly. They like to wear them hanging off the butt and skin tight. Looks like they stole their little sister's skinny jeans. Men are not men anymore.

I was Thought how it use it differently... but I am also aware there is one sides fusible lining (that sounds like the product you are using) and two sided fusible interfacing.

i am in complete shock and awe at your basting stitch tip....the amount of times i have fought with pins to stitch curved pockets.....i feel foolish

I bought and RETURNED a Singer Heavy Duty machine. 1) No Owner's Manual included. I would have had to print out the manual myself. ($$$ for ink, paper add to cost of machine) 2) No Warranty info with sewing machine. I had to search online for it. After finding it online, I fully understood their not including the warranty documents with the machine. 90 Day Warranty? REALLY?! Apparently, Singer no longer considers their product worth standing behind!

Also, do NOT start on the seam…start in between the seams in the nice flat area, when you get to the bulky bits, keep tension on the material to help it feed through. If you are making jeans long, to get more time as a kid grows you can make a flat felled stitch on the inside to keep the extra length tidy

I use a Jean-amjig It is a V shaped tool that fits under the back of the foot so you can go over the seams.

I don't understand. What was the reason for this? The cut edges were serged so you're sewing step 2? Did you cut these out entirely or are you repairing something? But why are the cut edges already serged.
