Telescopic Titans, Martian Mirage, and Celestial Chickens: S03E243
Astronomy Daily - The Podcast: S03E243
Welcome to Astronomy Daily, your daily dose of the most fascinating developments in space science and astronomical discoveries. I'm Anna, and today we're exploring some incredible stories from across the cosmos.
Highlights:
- Game-Changing Telescopes: Discover the potential of the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) and the 30 Peter Telescope (TMT) as highlighted in a recent National Science Foundation report. These groundbreaking telescopes promise to redefine our understanding of the universe, addressing questions about galaxy formation, dark matter, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Despite their potential, these projects face financial and technical hurdles, needing $1.6 billion to progress.
- The Quest for Water on Mars: Delve into the ongoing search for liquid water on Mars. A new study challenges previous assumptions, suggesting that features like recurring slope lineae may be dry flows of sand and dust. Researchers are now focusing on brines, though their stability on Mars remains questionable. Despite setbacks, the search continues, driven by the hope that life might have adapted to Mars' extreme conditions.
- China's Space Sector Milestones: Learn about Landspace's recent achievements, including a successful launch and a $123 million funding boost for reusable methane-powered rockets. This marks a significant step in China's commercial space sector, with plans for cargo missions to the Tiangong space station by 2026.
- The Running Chicken Nebula: Marvel at the newly released image of the Running Chicken Nebula, captured by the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope. This emission nebula, located 6,500 light-years away, captivates with its whimsical, chicken-like shape and vibrant colors.
- Stargazing Tips for Beginners: If you've received a telescope recently, Sky & Telescope offers essential tips for getting started. Learn how to familiarize yourself with your equipment, practice during daylight hours, and choose the best celestial targets like the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn for your first observations. Perihelion 22 successful.❤❤
Thanks for the forecast! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Perihelion 22 coming up for Christmas Eve.❤❤
Planets may very well keep moons in stable orbits. But last i heard, people are prone to likeing, even NEEDING Sun shine there, Sunshine.
Perihelion 22 coming up.
Brilliant Pod. Looking forward to future editions.
No. Europe is not overtaking SpaceX . Or maybe your title is just clickbait - obviously wrong to stir up viewers.
The episode title is hilarious.
It a great way to start the day
Thank you David...
Man I love space engineering. Delving into issues such as heat shield research sounds fascinating to me.
I agree...
Isaacman should not be spoken as two words. Sounds weird.
Listening in, Anna, and enjoying greatly 'Astronomy Daily". I tried the website link and it does not appear to be working. I would love to receive the companion newsletter.
Hmmm..that does sound a bit odd. I just tried it on two different browsers and it was fine. However, it sounds like there must be an issue. Can you tell me what browser you are using and having problems with and I can take it from there. In the meantime, here's a direct link where you can sign up... spacenutspodcast.com/astronomydaily Fingers crossed...and thanks for letting me know.
Thank you for this podcast, I've just found out about it. Love it❤
Thank you @bessonovavetmed2659 ...nice to have you join the family...😀
It really good to start the morning try it
Thank you, Anna. I recently discovered you here on UA-cam. Glad I did. I am enjoying your shows.
Anna, does that huge simulation utilize a quantum computer?
Talking quintillions of operations its gotta be. If not, a quantum version would mind boggle!
@@donporter8432 It's actually the most powerful computer in the world. so you're right...they went for the biggest possible.
I'm sorry but 3 minutes in I call BS. You debunk The UAP lights over the Capitol Hill saying they are just optical illusions basically from street lights on the camera lens when there's already numerous different photos from different angles of these same lights in the same pattern across the city at different points. Something third dimensional is clearly there If it's being seen in the same spot from different points in the city. But right after that, you talk about how it's possible alien civilizations could be piloting entire star systems through the universe.... Make it make sense.
Two different stories though. We just report the story...the lights over Washington were declared to be nothing but an optical illusion....but concerning enough and of interest to a lot of people so worth noting. The Starship idea is nothing more than an interesting hypothesis put forward by a scientist...and again....interestin enough to be reported on. We're not here to draw conclusions...just report the stories. It's up to the listeners to make up their minds about the veracity of them...
Yay India! Very smart engineers! 👍
In a previous life I hired and worked with several outstanding programmers!
@@donporter8432 Isn't it great to see these discoveries are now going on all around the world and not just concentrated on one country in particular. I think it bodes well for the future...
It is truly a great time to be alive!
Thanks great way to start the day
JAXA 😥
Anna you are talking crap, just repeating what you have been fed. Relativity was established by a lie. scientist get paid to lie. one should not ask dung beetles if CRAP is good to eat. Anglo-American love of german sience enabled them to sign einstein as a agent.. My grandfather refused to tell SANGY (einstein) how gravity is generated. sangy was signed up by Trojan project due to his religious background at patent office. Hitler forced max Planck to help sangy while in Germany by killing one of his son. einstein concocted relativity from other scientist work, which was ignored. Arthur Eddington failed to show mass of moon or mercury bend light. they knew matter bend light. he took picture of starlight bent by sun's corona matter made of plasma and space dust and lied telling public it was bent by gravity. no space dust and plasma = no bending of light or lensing effect. Sangy stole e=mc2 from great Italian Olinto DePretto, Calories= mass x v^2 without knowing it’s meaning. E= mc2 is approximation of photon release in one plain only in nuclear decay. best way to keep people ignorant is teach them by ignorant teachers. to get paper from university means, you are certified to believe and regurgitate the crap they fed you pretending to be intelligent.. it dose not make you wise. I pay 100,000 chine’s Yuan to any one charity proving me wrong. Scientist are stupid and western world leaders do not have the back boon, ball, intelligence or power to order their scientist to prove me wrong and expose their lies past 63 years. So currently over 90% of physic is fiction and lies continue.
And you have evidence to back up all of this?
@@astrodailypod take a look at SOHO satellite watching the sun to see all matter being ejected by sun. check Wikipedia for e=mc2
Wonderful way to start my morning. Nice voice.
Parker Solar Probe will be doing a Perihelion 22 ❤❤❤

Venus Flyby 7 coming up for tomorrow.❤❤
Interesting stuff this time
Magnetic reversals are different... Every single time! Sometimes it is a partial then goes mostly back somtimes all the way then goes back or something inbetween because the internals of are planet are a conglomerate of masses that are constantly changing because they are not complete speres! And every time the earth internally has chagnged and so it isn't very predictable of what will actually happen every time because we don't have enough detailed data to know exactly how it will change and where it ends up after the change and how fast because of how complicated the mechanisms are.
Thought the Æther explained all this why a step backwards. Emf of every celestial body affects things. Not time or space. One is a measurement and the other a vessel without boarders. And we are heading to the great attractors 🤔🤷
Thanks for the shout out on 2019 UO14, I'm one of the co-authors on this, the first paper I've been involved with for 20+ years! A preprint of it was uploaded a week ago, and it has been acccepted into Astrophysical Journal Letters to appear on their site very soon!
One down, the rest of the universe to go.
Not only does it exist, I've been there - just once long ago for a wedding.
No sweat. At Warp 9, Vulcan could be almost anywhere.
