Take a tour of "the whole vacation kingdom"! This was recorded, via camcorder positioned on a resort room bed, at the Polynesian Resort in May 1988. Most of the background music is by "Network Music Ensemble" and can be found on Spotify and other sources. The video includes the MGM Studios preview area at Magic Kingdom and the "All America Parade". Enjoy!

Man that place was fantastic. I should be thankful Disney destroyed the resort, otherwise I'd be broke reliving those perfect memories.
They really ruined it with the new construction. This made me miss how beautiful every location used to be there no matter which direction you looked or walked.
37:49 I've been trying to find this song for 29 years. Thank you.
You're welcome!
@bravacentauri1978 UA-cam fed me your channel this morning and I have to say, this is awesome stuff. Your name, channel icon, and content is sick. Thank you for sharing all of these videos and memories.
Auntie Kau'i 💖💖💖🤙🏼💜💜💜
My all-time fav Disney World resort, and the music is such a huge part of the ambiance. Thanks for posting!
Wonderful footage! Great to hear Gary Owen's voice again!
This show has been around for this long? Goodness
Anyone know the song that starts at 12:43? I have been searching for many years and can't find any info.
I used to know. I searched for this song so much they (poly staff) started calling it "Julie's Song." Finally someone found it, but it's been years and I forgot. I'll get back to you! I know I can find it again.
@@juleskd5200 I will be forever grateful. I have scoured Spotify for tons of Hawaiian songs and still have not found anything close.
The title is "Haavei i Ua Huka" by "Joël"
I remember that you could hear the music under the water in the pool
I was debating posting this and only in late 2022 found out someone already had. I bought this tape (later on CD) at the Pirates of the C. gift shop in the Magic Kingdom as a kid and all these years later Bliss Abyss and Waterfalls in One Direction (I hope I got that right typing this fast) .. Track 2 basically .. those two and the way they blend together is still two of my favorite tracks/songs of all time. It reminds me of "better times" and even once when everyone left mid-day for diner and my family and I was just coming back (for the exact idea of what happened) ... we weren't there at the hottest and most crowded part of the day and somehow it felt like we had Epcot to ourselves ... what memories. There are two other tracks that reminds me of that . ua-cam.com/video/1hgjqq6O6VQ/v-deo.html Beyond the Waterfall by Paul Spears and Ray Lynch's Celestial Soda Pop ua-cam.com/video/9YtOWeAKTlo/v-deo.html ....both playing around the Wonders of Life area I miss classic Epcot
We're kindred spirits. We'd purchased the CD at the shop near Pirates. I remember listening to the album on a hammock at the Polynesian Resort many times. Frankly, much of the music around Tomorrowland (where you'll find your Beyond the Waterfall) and Future World at Epcot had similar sounds, all great. Better times at TWDC in my opinion, when quality seemed to trump profit margins, even if only in the guest's eyes.
I noticed in your playlist you had "Last Flamenco". If you haven't already and get the chance, check out Acoustic Alchemy live. I've seen them a few times. They tour the U.S. almost annually and their setlists often contain many older popular tracks, such as Jamaican Heartbeat.
@@bravacentauri1978 Very strange! i wonder if they paid or did work for disneyland to get their music sold in the parks. My way of finding this aritist is that i found this album at a thrift shop in the midwest. but the cover art was much different looks more self produced and had a digital triangle painting on the cover. the publishing date was 1989 on this cd and was titled 'Imagination Opus III" but had all the same exact songs and track listings.
Awesome. You brought back many memories for me. This was in my opinion the best Disney resort Thank you I remember all of this loop. I used to sit at the pool making sure a speaker was near me so I can listen to all these tunes. So beautiful. Thank you again.
Had water playing underwater as well!
Which year?
I’ll have to go back and check, but I believe either 91 or 93.
@@bravacentauri1978 Thanks. I have one of two playlists this would land in. 1990’s: ua-cam.com/play/PLeCDRk6O2hhOJjPqRmXj-IYIS6kFTKXXw.html
Or 1980’s: ua-cam.com/play/PLeCDRk6O2hhM3PRv-xXhIGRQ7_FBBrI73.html
4:50...my Dad and I have remembered this song for 25 years since my 1997 visit at 7 years old...I am now 32....and just found it today. So grateful the search is over. Don't mind me crying over here
I know that feeling. I’ve been trying to figure out the missing tracks to the 1988 resort information channel video I uploaded. The tracks all seem to be from “Network Music Ensemble” (artist) and I’ve figured out most and made a Spotify playlist with them. It’s almost euphoric when you finally find one!
@@bravacentauri1978 I'll tell him about that thank you. The other one was the water parade music, luckily we found that a few years back.
@@lobsterpocket4746 I have the actual audio track of the entire pageant (80s version) if your version isn’t clean. I used part of it in a different video on the channel showing the Floridian construction from the monorail cab. Happy to share :)
The architects son I knew somewhat . While discussing potential projects I should be slapped for not going through with he conveyed how disgusted he was at the renovations...that his father's work had been disrespected and outright demolitioned .Everything ...the music the art the vibe the SOCIAL energy ,even the aromas are gone . To add insult to injury they even remove the koi fish, tear out the architects epic Tangeroa Terrace and the Neverland club ,coral isle cafe ( look it up if it's even on the internet and Disney didn't remove it so as to not look more stupid )..),the shops, and the cute convention center. This place should be shut down and taken over by owners that respect the architects work and respect their guests ,they could care less about anything other than their primary stockholders .I have never seen uglier renovations and worse change of STAFF. They get 100s of millions to renovate and destroy and jack the rates up 4x while the service gets worse and worse . The staff here have no sincerity and authenticity .
Absolutely! Disney leaderships greed under Iger and "Paycheck Chapek" destroyed this once unique place and turned it into a generic "Honolulu Hilton". Whoever experienced the moment of entry into this place in the original layout, will never forget it. The waterfalls, the plants, the atmosphere. I will never forget it. And now they also destroyed the rooms, the main pool area and the beach as well, by building a severely downwatered version of the Polynesian highrise that had been planned in the late 1960ies, before they changed to the longhouse layout.
This video is delightful but what makes it truly fun is the Water Pageant music as the the background ambiance, simply brilliant!
My favorite song is at 16:33. “Kalele Swinging”. I did a lot of research until I finally found that song and found the artist. I now have a 40 song Hawaiian playlist to play out on my pool deck when I am unable to be at the Polynesian resort. Good stuff!
So very thankful that you too the time to record these tropical Memories of the Poly. Aloha.
Esse álbum curou minha insônia aos 20 e poucos anos, até hoje tenho o CD. Maravilhoso!
The landscaping looked so much better here.
Wow wish I could have seen the Polynesian before the remodel.
I can smell the music....yes you read that correctly
I agree ! It’s like walking interject Poly via a musical/visual aloha magic .
I can’t believe I missed all of this. I would love to go back and see Epcot Center in it’s (first) heyday.

Thanks for posting this. Really awesome to get a nice bit of nostalgia!
Boy how I miss this version of Epcot. This actually focused more on science and technology then now. Epcot has gone downhill since then. R.I.P Original Epcot Center.
