I know what it is liked having a broken ankle. I broke my left ankle in a bad car accident. The impact from the other car that did it. My car did rolled over. That was on March 7th,2012. I was so scared and almost about to cried in my car. The EMTs got me out of the car. I was strapped on to this board when they carried me to the back of the ambulance. I was less calm. I had my hand on the counter in the ambulance and my other hand on the thigh of the EMT. Luckily that I wasn’t seriously injured. I did joked with the EMTs in the ambulance. I was sent to the ER at the hospital. I didn’t even know if my ankle was broken till the ER doctor touch. The pain was the worst that I ever felt. When I first saw it. It was so freaking weird to see my foot pushed in a little bit, folds on the left side of the foot, and even the bone to the leg looked liked a big knuckle under the skin. The doctor gave me a shot to numbed the ankle for the pain and even straightened it. I had 3 sets of 3 X-rays during my stay at the hospital. Both of my parents saw me in the ER. I was so happy to see their faces. My sister wanted to see me after my car accident. I did wanted to see her,too but, my mother said that it would overwhelm me. I had the surgery the following afternoon. I was so nervous and scared since it was my first surgery that I ever had. It was so quick. I woke up in the OR after the surgery and even looked at the clock which was at 4pm. Both of my parents were there during my surgery. I saw them after and I was groggy from the anesthesia. My mother told me her pastor was there while I have my surgery. The following morning that I got dressed very carefully and I sat down in the recliner watching TV. I saw my father’s friend in the hospital and I yelled at him to talked to him. Even saw my doctor at that time at the hospital. I was even trying to used the scooter for my broken ankle and I can’t lift my ankle up towards it. I used a wheelchair and a walker to used. My parents rented them at the pharmacy near the hospital. My father had setup his bedroom for me during my recovery. He slept in the back bedroom on a sleeper sofa. I did felt bad in taking over his bedroom. At least that I have a TV to watched or playing on my laptop computer,too. My mother fixed my meals. Even brought home a to go meal from a restaurant that I liked. I did missed out the early summer weather on March 10th,2012. I did missed watching snow melted and early on the flowers and even the trees with leaves came out early. It did suck for me for 2 weeks and 4 weeks and then another 2 weeks. I did went out towards PT with my parents in the wheelchair. I started walking on May 11th,2012. Just one big step and one little step using the walker. I think it was 3 times a week in the beginning of PT for me. It dropped to 2 and then once a week. I went on 3 different casts. A splint cast, fiberglass cast, and the boot cast. I even had this thing to strapped around the ankle with this gel to heal faster. I did weaned off the boot during the month of July 2012. By August that I was in PT towards the end of August. I was walking back to normal. I still get a little bit of a soreness on my left ankle. I didn’t want to walked on the rocks with my sister when we were looking at the view of the water. She went w/o me. This was in October that same year. I’m still very careful of that ankle. I did sprained my right ankle badly from a bad fall just outside of my apartment on October 19th,2017. I thought that I broke that ankle when I was trying to get up from the ground a couple times but,I couldn’t. I did called 911 and then my mother. The EMTs got me up from the ground with straps and even wheeled me towards my mother’s car. She drove me to the ER. It was on my sister’s birthday,too. She wasn’t with us during her birthday. I even had 1 set of 3 X-rays on that ankle. It wasn’t broken. I just tore a ligament in my ankle. I wore a boot for 2 weeks and used a walker. My mother did all of the driving for me. I didn’t go to the Y for those 2 weeks. I didn’t rode a spin bike in class very carefully but,I didn’t go to my other class till early December. It was hard to get on the bike and I tried my left foot instead of the right foot. I did used my right foot shortly after and it was a little bit hard,too. I was still using a walker for helping me in walking. I’m still careful not hurting my ankles at all.

Currently watching from the couch… recovering from ankle surgery. 1 week post. Broke it in two parts while hiking and I’m an expert hiker.. but now after this first time ever breaking a bone I’m scared to go back to hiking. Thank you for sharing your story

Mountain View’s are amazing no matter what month of the year
