n some of the older aircraft I flew, like the Victor and the VC10. After an engine failure on take off we would only shut the engine down when it was not producing thrust even in the case of an engine fire. All measured in those aircraft by pressure difference between the front and the back of the engine, (by the flight engineer). Great video and a nice look into the world of the Aerostar!

I have mine on the bench at this very moment. Some additional remarks worth mentioning. Mark the clocking when you remove this part. There is a critical angle where the unit penetrates the engine bay. Installed out of alignment and the air supply line will easily rupture due to proximity to turbo. Additionally the micro switches that provide 24 vac to the cockpit position indicator can become contaminated or out of alignment with wear causing indicator concerns. I have erratic display lights even tho the valve functions. Found 24 vac at the bulb but no amperage due to high resistance in the micro switch contacts. This is more maintenance related but noteworthy for pilot troubleshooting while operating the aircraft. Great video!

Nicely done. Good brief on maintence of the valve shaft .Some information on how the slip joints work and why they leak some would enhance this presentation.

Hi captin. Great channel, great vocabulary and attention to detail. Question Have you considered upgrading to the garmin 3000 instrument panels? What brand tires do you current use to land and why ? Will you be upgrading the radar system on this plane? Would you buy a 2024 twin turbine, same brand? Have you consider owning a Honda jet? Why or why not?
