Silver Dream Racer is a great movie. It’s one of the best motorcycle movies ever made. Apart from Race For Glory and On Any Sunday & The World’s Fastest Indian. But not as good as those three. My only criticism with the film is that it doesn’t have Freddie Spencer, my favourite motorcycle racer of all time. Or Burt Munro, my favourite motorcycle rider ever. But, it’s still a great movie. Just not as great as The World’s Fastest Indian or On Any Sunday and Race For Glory.

I recently purchased the BMW police R1200RT/P from this scene. A colleague had installed the police lights on it for a local PD in '09 and recognized the bike when I showed it to him. That was a nice surprise.

When the movie came out I thought it was my neighbor’s biography because he was from India, loved to drink and used to go speeding at inconceivable speeds until the day he hit a tree that fell on a bystander, jumped the road and destroyed a wall. It was such an scandal that he was terminated from his job as a pilot.

Very clever to show the viewpoint of the motorcyclist looking ahead through his small windshield. And the police officer who acts very humane.

Anthiny Hopkins is the Best for Burt Munro.The tested a replica of the old Indian,the sound was incredible.

They dubbed over the Australian accents with American ones? Why??? I'm an American and the Aussie accents are one of my favorite qualities about this film.

Technically, the bike that Bert had could only reach a top speed of 55mph. He won the record on the Salt Falts, Utah, USA at 21mph. Couse that had to Amp up the speed for this Hollywood movie. Anthony Hopkins was 68 yo, but wasn't the driver in the super fast scenes. According to Hopkins, Bert was from Switzerland. RIP Bert. You're racing in Heaven now! Or whatever God you believed in if any. Zoomies to the extreme...🏍

The scene where Burt is testing the bike on a highway out in the middle of nowhere and he passes the cop and the cop turns around with the siren and roller light on… I started laughing hysterically. By the time the cop caught him Burt was in the next zip code and the bike was shut off for a few minutes haha

1:17 I wonder if that guy laid that bike down or if he avoided the camera successfully. Either way, he had one helluva surprise!
