This is my 2019-2024 build log of HMS Victory using the Artesania Latina wooden model kit. The finished build is 51 inches long and 40 inches tall. Customizations include lighting on all 3 gun decks, use of 3D printed decorations, copper plating of the hull, and painting of 1/2 of the ship using the "true" colors of the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

In the ocean with Dusky dolphins. Bad day for Ron who got sick on the boat. Delana captured some amazing video on the way back to town.

An unexpected encounter off the side of the highway...and a way cool beach in the seaside town of Kaikoura.

Touring of the wine region of Marlborough. Staying in the town of Blenheim. The region is known for their outstanding Sauvignon Blanc. We found great Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon too .

Love hiking in the mountains! The Hooker Valley Track is one of the most popular in New Zealand - and it's easy to see why.

A day to just hang around Queenstown. Big skiing town in the winter, but we're there in mid-fall, so shopping and seeing the city sights were the focus.

On the way to Queenstown, stopped off for a jet boat ride up a shallow, glacier fed river. Every day...more incredible vistas!

Long drive to our last scenic destination - Franz Josef Village - on the rainy side of the South Island. Glaciers and rain forest mixed together - a wild combination!

Took a small plane for a 30 minute flight back from Milford Sound to Queenstown, going over the mountains and lakes of Fjordland NP.

Saving the best for last...a helicopter flight to a glacier ice field. It didn't take very long, but this was a majestic and divine experience!

Taking a coach cruise flight tour of Fjordlands NP and Milford Sound - one of NZ's top treasures. There are great hikes at Milford Sound, but we took it easy for a change!

Making our way back home. The train across the Southern Alps was top notch. We love you New Zealand. Unforgettable. All the people. All the places. You are our *favorite home away from home.

Travelling up into the Southern Alps, with Aoraki/Mt Cook (Aoraki is the Maori name) as the highest peak (12218 ft). The area is also designated as a Gold Tier Dark Sky Reserve - having some of the darkest skies on Earth - so a stargazing tour was a MUST DO!

Another travel day heading down the South Island. Stayed overnight in the quaint town of Geraldine. A very pleasant surprise.
