Honestly dont remember. It was 2 years ago so i think it was either the HS1250 or CF1200.
How do you think it would work with an ML85 - I am over 90 kilos and would be just for some intermediate proning when no wind - I ask because I wing the 85!
It should work well. Definitely recommend the Foil Drive Antenna for best experience though. But board shape should work. A little on the large size so suggest smaller if you want more maneuverable.
This was inspiring to watch. I'm a winger, surfer... that just recently started prone foiling. This gives me hope. (By the way, I got my Armstrong Midlength 55 from you :)

Probably a few different ones but most likely the HA880 in these clips.

You didn't find 17" to be a little too narrow on the 45L? I have a 65L for wing at 19" wide and I think it's great. Been wanting a 45l for prone, but I'm concerned it might be too narrow.

It took a session or two to get used too but no overall feels good at that width. Definitely an adjustment compared to other regular prone boards
@@FoilOutlet Thanks. I located a 45ML. I'm not sure yet as I'm considering trying out my 50L wing board prone, first. But I'm definitely considering one.
@@FoilOutlet I'm super torn between the 45 and the 55ML. Can't seem to make up my mind. I mostly want it for prone. I paddled out yesterday on an Appletree Slice V3 50L and it just doesn't paddle very well. It's really not designed for it as it's 100% wing board. I'm 185 and I'm learning to prone, but I've been surfing for 25+ years and I have countless hours on foil winging. It appears I should be able to duck dive the 55 in up to head high surf. I was able to duck dive the 50L Appletree in shoulder high stuff yesterday just fine, but obviously not as easy as my surfboards in the 35-40L range.
Forgot to mention I'm 185lbs / 84kg.

What's the advantage of the taller people on foil pump to generate more speed? On pumping technique, will taller will benefit for generating speed due to longer legs/limbs and leverage?

Do the performance masts make a big difference with generating speed and pumping further?
Yes! Very surprisingly they do. They are faster and there are some angle differences which make them better for this. I was personally shocked how much different it was.

Curious why so many people use the HA’s for surfing instead of the MA’s which is believe are supposed to be designed for surfing?
The HAs pump way better! The MAs surf great and for waves with some power and size are usually better. But when riding small stuff and wanting to connect the HAs work better

Hi Foil Outlet, thanks for the video. i am on try 190 pump foiling - can you take a look at my latest video and maybe give me 1-2 tips what i can improve. tysm!
Most of the tips here should help. But mainly focus on kicking the BACK foot down. If you’re using a Max then you may want to consider the HA1180 or APF1350. The weight of that unit does make it more difficult with the smaller size wings.
I’m trying to figure out how to ollie the foildrive gen 2 prop out of the water and pump around on flat water. I’m using a 50 L axis foil drive board, 795 performance mast, 980 HA, tc60 fuse, and 235 Flow. I can ollie up and coast, but figuring out the pump is challenging. Any tips?
Once you are up and coasting (foil drive out of the water) quick taps down on the nose to engage the foil. Try to unweight your body a bit when the nose is coming back up before giving a quick tap down again on the nose. Learning with a larger front foil would make it easier.
Thanks! I’ll try with the 980 first. If it doesn’t happen, maybe I’ll get a bigger front wing. BTW, I’m using a blue shim with my 235 flow (the shim made it glidier), but I see a lot of guys including your group using the 180 tail so maybe I should try that.

This had been my home windsurf, kite spot for almost 30 years, i learned to wing this year now looking to prone foil, nice to see NSB has great conditions for prone foiling. I didnt see it but i am assuming he paddled up, i dont see a tow or a foil drive. Is it too shallow on the inside, i really only saw him on the outside of the jetty. Larry
Are guys using the Armstrong Wing board for actual paddling into waves / surfing ever? Or would you say most are using the Midlength board for paddle only surfing (no PWC assist ) ?
Not really wing boards but the prone boards and Midlengths!

Layman's questions : How long can that be done? How is it started?
Started by paddling into a wave like on a surfboard. It can be done as long as the rider has the endurance! Its definitely a work out.
This day almost all rides were started with tow in assist by jetski. You can keep the pumping going as long as you have energy. Using the waves and swell lines can help you save energy and maintain your momentum. Tons of 5-10min rides this day with barely breaking waves.
Great Tips, it would be nice to know all the Riders weights and position of the mast in the box for each set up.
