Nice, loved the part at the end where you are trying to piece everything together. Yeah the year 2000 bug was big, you could not avoid hearing about it. I remember being somewhat let down when we arrived into 2000 and nothing happened.

Love this episode. Kabuto is the perfect spy and pulls some crazy ninja moves on Kakashi who we know is insanely good.

In japanese, when an "u" comes after an "o", the sound of the "u" is usually not pronounced, it just makes the sound of "o" larger, so "ou" -> "ooh" Hououin -> Hooooh in Kyouma -> Kyooh ma

The ppl holding up the wall created a second barrier for themselves after creating the main one, so no, they can't just take them out cuz the four ppl are protecting themselves. They visually showed this the episode they created the barrier. Also I think you're getting to caught up in minor things, this fight is mainly a focus on orochimaru and his impact on the 3rd hokage. The water thing if u remember back to naruto's training before the final exams he was being taught how to walk on water using his Chakra to help control it and distribute it throughout his body, to help his control of it. The standing/laying in the water cuz they're using Chakra on that area of the body. Also I understand that it can be confusing but everything that's happening is at the same time as each other. The 3rd Hokage fight with Orochimaru, Kakashi and Guy fighting the Sound village Jounin, Sasuke chasing Gaara and Naruto chasing Sasuke to bring him back under Kakashi's orders are happening at once. They're just flipping btw them. Also Orochimaru is still Orochimaru he's just learned new faces or bodies as u learned more about later. Remember the grass ninja he killed during the forest of death(the one Anko found)? He took her face and body. It cool that you're thinking about future events and stuff a day theorizing about the story, tho I think you're education in story telling is kinda letting overlooked or overthink certain things in the show. Like with the barrier situation.😅😅 no one from outside can touch it or else they get set on fire like earlier or go after the sound 4(the 4 ninja that created it cuz they made a layer for themselves so they can't be touched atm. Nobody from outside can help the 3rd rn. Also summonings don't need a platform requirement, just a blood contract and enough Chakra to summon it of course.

the ones fighting the 3rd Hokage here are the 1st and 2nd Hokage brought back to life, Orochimaru put those tags in their heads to suppress their personality and free will to pretty much turn them into puppets, this is his way of tormenting Sarutobi :) your clone jutsu comparison isnt too bad since they are weaker than the originals :D Monkey King Enma is obviously based on the Chinese Sun Wukong, the staff is a signature weapon of his, it can change shape and length too :) also fun fact Saru means monkey so it makes sense Sarutobi's summoning would be this :) this fight was very nicely done, really good choreography, fluid, nicely demonstrated the skills of high level shinobi, the creativity is always there :) the reason for the animation style change is exactly because of that, they wouldnt be able to make it as fluid if they preserved more detailed and sturdy visuals, they gotta make it less detailed and more modelable lets say, ofc if they had a whole year to put this together they could keep the picture in perfect shape too :) events are definitely happening concurrently, one gets paused as another is in focus :) that Orochimaru reveal in the end is great, just adds more mystery and creepiness to him :D

When Lord Third's summoning transforms into the Adamantine Staff, it allows him (Monkey King Enma) to be nearly impervious to damage, although he can still suffer pain from Orochimaru's special sword. Adamantine in Naruto is as hard as diamond

The people holding up the barrier are inside the barrier but as seen in a previous episode, when one of the Anbu suggests that the 3rd take down one of the people holding up the barrier, one of Orochimaru's henchmen tell the others to put up barrier on the other side of them, encasing them in the barrier. This makes it impossible for anyone to take one down.

Studio Pierrot will put extra money and time into important episode. The studio could not keep up this quality because Naruto/Shippuden/Boruto have always been monthly mangas but weekly animes. This caused scheduling issues, animator fatigue, and quality issues. It is also the reason behind so much filler and too many flashbacks.

That roof is the most robust thing in the Leaf Village =) About the Reanimation jutsu: a living vessel should be sacrificed to summon the soul of a dead person. Then this vessel gets encased in mud and sand to resemble the dead persons appearance. The soul gets into this body and does remember everything (the initial small dialog with Sarutobi was with Hokages), posses the same powers, but not in 100% strength, more like 10-30%. Then Orochimaru placed the kunai with the spell in their bodies to suppress their spirits and use them as puppets. Hope this helps!

The reanimation Jutzu uses living sacrifices but theJutzu pulls the soul of the one you want to reanimate from the Pure lands (Naruto Heaven) and puts it into the sacrificed. So that means the reanimated are actually the deceased with access to there abilities, personality and memories. The personality can be controlled though (when Orochimaru inserted the kunai with the tag into their heads).

Okay, random comment, I just sponteniously have to make it because I just found this out: Mayushii/Mayuri is voiced by GGZ Bronya 🤯(well, obviously the other way around but you get the point). Makise Kurisu's VA, Asami Imai, became a Vtuber in October last year. Okarin's VA voices Peter B. Parker in Spider-Verse as well as Mario in the 2023 movie. Somebody needs to make a mod that replaces N64 Mario's voice samples with Okabe's... Our rotund haxxor Daru offers his JP voice to Ezio Auditore, Leonardo from TMNT in one of the shows, Sonic the Werehog and Sly Cooper. Mr.Braun's JP voices both Bail Organa from Star Wars and George Lucas himself, funnily enough. Also Balto (anyone remember the Balto animated movies? used to watch them on the VHS 😅) 13:33 - "Dr. Nakabachi has a few patents behind his belt" yeah no kidding. His JP actor voices Scrooge McDuck, Piglet from Winnie the Pooh, Vesemir from Witcher 3, Tarkin from Star Wars Rebels. Both Braun and Nakabachi also voice key story characters in AC games.

ye Naruto does just flow seamlessly most of the time thats one of the main reasons why it was produced this way, releasing weekly, rather than seasonally :) clones cant move too far from the original body there is a limit, they pretty much said that in the 1st arc with Zabuza when he summoned a clone :) if Naruto just cloned he would waste chakra, he wouldnt be able to help out that much with the Sasuke chase, if he tried to scatter he wouldnt be able to replicate the paw prints, so just relying on clones isnt ideal :) realistically Naruto is the strongest guy they got so they cant be wasting him :D ofc he was gonna offer himself but Shikamaru had other plans :) this was a great moment for Shikamaru, another bit of development :) Asuma got his badass moment that was cool :D his name is Asuma Sarutobi :) we definitely upped the scale this is quite different to what we have been served till now :)

3:40 - "First impression - you are a bunch of idiots" least harsh Asian teacher. Okay. Watching Sasuke as an adult is kinda weird, cuz that was literally me in school. Secluded, brooding, constant frown on my face, which made people ask me what's wrong which would piss me off cuz I want to be invisible and by myself, bide my time until I can go home, I was still grumpy, but at least I was playing on PS1 and watching Jetix and Cartoon Network. Back when things were simple and time felt like it went on forever. I love how they showcase an ACTUAL power difference between a Jonin and a Genin in the episode, with Kakashi getting behind Naruto before they could even react, and him basically clowning on the trio for 2 episodes straight. I say actual, because Ebisu the sunglasses guy from Episode 2 was also a Jonin and he really didn't sell the power diff (although initially resisting Sexy Jutsu is a surprisingly high feat). 10:16 yup, that just happened. I grown-ass man (26 years old specifically), a teacher no less, jammed his fingers deep into a minor's asshole, through his clothes, too. And yes, "1000 years of death" was one of the techniques we would copy from the show and try to sneak attack each other with. 11:45 "they are not images, they are real" yeah, that's the main difference between Clone Jutsu and Shadow Clone one. Regular is just smoke and mirrors, while Naruto's tech is the real deal, hence it was listed in the Forbidden Jutsu scroll (although not just because it has insane vesritility but because it's a dangerous tech to cast due to chakra requirments). 14:50 one of the many scene that get censored in the anime. in the manga you clearly see Kakashi get hurt with the kunai with blood coming out, so Naruto freaking out makes a bit more sense, even tho the viewer still gets the point, the censored version still makes the scene look less believable, since the body doesn't even get hurt.

The voice actor for the Kazakage is the same voice actor for Konahamaru's trainer Ebisu. He also voices 2 others that I will point out when we meet them. One is a very important character. I really love his voice (when he's not voicing Ebisu 😁). He is on my top 3 voice actor's list for Naruto/Shippuden. We are not introduced to the other 2 until Shippuden. When I found out this voice actor also voiced Ebisu, I had to go back and relisten to Ebisu several times before I picked up on it. That is a sign of a great voice actor, although he doesn't do anything to disguise his voice for the other 3 characters. The guy who voices Kakashi does several minor characters and does try to hide this fact in changing his voice but somehow you can always pick up on it.

Actually the order of the 2nd round of fights would have been taken from original fight roster. So Naruto would have gone up against who ever won the Sasuke/Gaara fight and Tamari would have gone up against Shino. Sasuke's fight was just delayed.

addendum comment about the manga differences: Chapter 3 is actually called "Enter Sasuke". And not Sasuke and Sakura: Friends or Foes. Emphasizing importance of Sasuke much more (Kishimoto really said "Sakura not even worth mentioning in the title"💀). the scene where Naruto jumps Sasuke is reversed, if you will. In the manga, Naruto is already inside the building not the other way around, and garrotes Sasuke who was eating a rice ball, pulling him inside. The next panel is him walking outside in disguise, you never actually see what happened or even the scene of Sasuke initially besting Naruto. The only thing Sasuke says, when the panel shows him all tied up is "Naruto used his Ninjutsu to pass as me, what's he up to?!". I actually like this version more, I think, as it keeps Naruto's strengths and improvements more ambiguos and up to reader's interpritation. Also, the scene of InaShikaCho (the 3 kids, Sakura's rival, the lazy guy and the chubby one) watching it all happen doesn't exist in the manga. The scene of Naruto wiping his ass is also shot from behind and above, making it easier to see him wiping his bum, for whatever reason. Also includes a notice on the restroom door: "Toilet paper limit - 15 cm at once - The management" Sasuke's clothes are inspired by some characters from Kishimoto's first work he submitted to Weekly Shonen Jump - Karakuri.

2:14 pretty cute of Naruto to eat ramen with narutomaki in it (the white kamaboko aka fish cake with pink swirly, named so after whirlpools in the naruto strait) 3:30 funny how you were addressing the comment about Naruto's "Dattebayo/Believe It", just before they introduce Sakura proper, with her inner self's own gimmick of saying "Cha!" in the sentence. Similarly, the original line "Shānnarō!" is not translatable easily, but can mean "Hell Yeah/No", "Dammit" depending on context, and they probably didn't want to bother (not accounting for level of translation available at the time, anime came out in like, what, 2002). *sigh* Kishimoto-sensei and writing female characters 😅... I know I already said this in Discord a while ago, but still crazy to think JP voice for Sakura is the same as Jackal from Honkai, and Hinata is Kallen... I know it as simple as "popular VA gets hired to do another gig" but it's fun to imagine it's some sort of destiny, I still remember your reaction to "Choice of Steins;Gate" achievement in Honkai XD. It's all connected. Also, shout out to the random ass kid who pushed Naruto's ass, making kiss Sasuke (you do NOT want to know how deep Naruto x Sasuke ship goes, number 1 in Naruto history. Hell, I'm reading a reddit thread where someone is explaining Kakashi-sensei and Sakura ship). Interesting how all of the groups in Naruto got devided into 2 boys 1 girl. I never paid attention to it for many years. Wonder if there was some sort of system Kishimoto had to follow, like an editor's suggestion or it was just a random idea. Why not have some of the squads be all girls/boys squad or 2 girls 1 boy? I know Iruka said they assigned the squads to balance their strengths and weaknesses, but it's in relation to their skills, but the consistant line-up for every group still catches my attention. I wonder how you handle the character barrage in future episodes, when they get brought back into the focus by the exam arc. I can only imagine how overwhelming the "Shounen Curse" as I call it, can be, especially for an anime noob. A.k.a insane character density, which only grows. Naruto, My Hero Academia, any gacha game (albeit with varying severity, some combat it better than others despite character amount), all of the anime media gets hit with the Shounen Curse, and as the result the value of said characters diminishes due to lack of actual development and roles in the story. Most of the time, excess characters are used for wider marketing possibilities and are brought up when the plot demands it, they don't have actual arcs and end goals, denounced to be a hype machine/plot device etc which is definitely one of my bigger critisizms of the media. But I guess my opinon on the issue is influenced by me researching stuff about narrative and character writing for my own purposes. I've had characters who I was even attached to or simply liked the concept of, but then would ask questions like "what does X actually want, outside the immediate role in the story?" and stuff like that. And the general rule of thumb I've seen said, if you can't answer these questions, you might want to redo stuff or cut it out completely, with me choosign a mix of both over the years, and I do not believe I still really know what I want from that story (also I have terrible commitment issues, and can't concentrate on the same story without going "oh, I feel inspired, I want to write about XYZ" but a lot of the times it's a near-sighted inspiration, that doesn't have much depths to continue past certain amount of chapter or I have visions of the framework, but it's too abstract for me to understand what it is I want. Geez, I derailed that whole segment, huh) It's also pretty interesting to see you break down episodes, considering they are generally compressed versions of the manga experience. It's not really the case all the time, some episodes go episode per chapter, but generally in modern anime it's 2-3 chapters per episode, up to even 5 in some cases. I like how on the surface it seems like the narrative payoff is about Sasuke being mentioned as the last Uchiha, and it coming up again in act 3 between him and Sakura, creating the first piece of connection between Naruto and him. But in reality it's about them showing Naruto drink expired milk in Act 1, which messes up his devious plans with Sakura, which allows Sasuke to have his talk with her, which influences how she sees Naruto. Spoiled milk actual MVP of the series.

3:33 Okay, a bit of a rant. The whole concept of transformation jutsu is broken, when you consider it is a E-rank jutsu, a bottom of the barrel, required to graduate to become a ninja as seen in Episode 1. The amount of crime in the Hidden Villages must be insane... Now, it IS a tiny bit demanding, like you have to understand the dimensions of whatever you tranform into, take into account height, weight etc (with inanimate objects being the most difficult to turn into) but since it's easier to turn into an animate object, for example a human, I don;t need to tell you that can only spell disaster XD. Also ain't no way Hiruzen "perked up" from a 12 year old flashing him (even if you take the female body into account, FemNaruto still looks like she could be mid-teens at youngest. Not a good look, Mr.President of the Leaf Village. This is how you know it's a late 90s manga) 10:50 about Catra instead of Chakra. in Japanese, instead of "Chakura" Naruto says "Chatora", which means brown tiger, a type of real life cat with a distinct fur pattern. Chatora cat is used in other anime media as well as merch so I guess it's just that popular of a breed. Also, when Konohamaru tranforms into the one lady on the street, it makes sense it'll come out all wrong, because he is a young twat, compared to a teenager who sneaks into magazine stores to look at pin-ups, meaning he has worse understanding of girls and their anatomy among other things, despite looking directly at a woman (reinforcing what I said earlier about transformation jutsu requirements, on top of general Chakra control and amount)? This is just me trying to retroactively look at a power, that got expanded on YEARS after the fact, in a light novel after Naruto part 2 ended, so perhaps it doesn't really makes sense to use later knowledge to early scenes since those rules weren't as clearly defined yet, but it's fun to try. Also, no, it's not a Potrugese singer in the outro, but Akeboshi Yoshio, Japanese singer just in case you never looked it up in all these years.

Migrating my comment from back when I had a different username: Oh boy, did I time travel to mid 2000s, my elementary school years? While I always preferred Bleach out of the Big 3 most popular anime of their time (The Big 3 being Naruto, Bleach and One Piece), Naruto will always stand out for it's usage of symbolism and Japanese folklore, the core idea of determination and hard work will carry you forward, no matter how much of a "failure" people make you out to be despite other people having natural talent, as well as importance of bonds with other people. Despite Naruto's motivation (becoming a person of importance/power for the sake of recognition) not being relatable to ME, nether then nor now, I DID feel a lot of his pain growing up, as I was kind of an outcast myself, albeit for different reasons, obviously no demon foxes involved with my issues lmao. I was surprised how much cohesive narrative steps and setups were in just this episode alone, you really brought a novel perspective on the episode. Looking forward to further arcs, as they can get a bit more combat focused at times, I feel like these would be more taxing to analyze, rather than exposition-heavy ones. Also regarding your pinned comment on fillers, I totally support the idea of reacting to fillers, and not to mention this is YOUR experience, and noone can tell you how to experience things on your channel. And some fillers are simply golden material, be it either interesting one-shot plots/entire story arcs or simply bizarre shenanigans.

This series is becoming a time machine in it self. I like what you did with the channel name, everytime I came back to the main channel in the past to check for Steins;Gate updates it usually had a different name. I've swallowed the bait on the 4 other "playthroughs" so might aswell go for the 5th one, maybe this one will be the one. El Psy... Kongalee?

Gaara does have quite a variety of defense :D even though Neji's is stronger I would say Gaara's is more convenient :) its been a while since we have seen the Lightning Blade, last time Kakashi used it against Zabuza :) the name Chidori comes from a story about famous samurai Tachibana Dosetsu, he was in possession of a famous sword called Chidori, one day while he was still a young man, he was taking shelter under a tree as it was raining, suddenly a bolt of lightning struck him, however, Tachibana used his Chidori to cut the Thunder God inside the lightning bolt, allowing him to survive, after this incident, he renamed his Chidori to Raikiri (Lightning Cutter) :) they keep teasing us with Gaara :D props to Sakura for being able to handle herself here :) love the way we enter this new stage its got proper intensity :)

honestly Sasuke owes Lee his whole medical bills for all the stuff he stole from him :D poor Kiba and Akamaru they were so unlucky here :P Gaara was literally like "so dear audience you shall wait for the rest Im gonna close this now" xD a little correction episode 26 is a special not filler that one has nothing to do with the actual story its just a little extra something for the fans, in this case they gave us a full recap in a different style :)

Bro Naruto has one of the best universes when it comes to non main characters. Not only will you remember all there names but you will be able to relate to a lot of there feelings.

Shikamaru is a great character, one of my favs is OG Naruto series and maybe top 10 in Shippuden (Omg there are some incredible moments in that anime). Keeping an eye on your reactions as some of my favorite episodes are coming soon =)
