Why do Protestants cherry pick? If you TRULY read the early church fathers, church history, and protestant history and still remain protestant then you are deceiving yourself. You may cover this, how about apostolic successions, and the tradition passed down from the Apostles? Let's be frank, if you were to read history without the lens of protestantism, you will see that it supports Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox. Protestantism is very similar to Nestorian, Arius, and Marcion. Not in the beliefs, but in how when the church declared them heretics, they went on with their their condemned beliefs and continued with their churches. See here's the difference, one man's interpretation vs the church's interpretation. Here's Another point, you say Scripture alone... which canon of Scripture? The Protestant canonization made by one man's decision or 3rd and 4th century councils decision. I believe 4 councils and each council had these number of bishops respectively: 40, 40, 200, and over 200 bishops. Again, are you cherry picking? Don't be like Marcion that cherry picked Scripture and had his own canon: a modified gospel of Luke and letters of Paul only.
Hello! I could not disagree more with your comment based on my own reading of the Fathers. Further there are numerous Protestant church historians that would disagree with your comment. And in regards to the cannon I encourage you to research the council of laodicea, and the cannon lists of Jerome, athanasius and John of Damascus. You might be surprised at what you find! God bless and keep diving into church history it truly is a treasure trove of value!

@@Akayourstepdad hello sir! I have read all of Ignatius and can assure you his understanding of the Catholic Church is not the Roman Catholic Church. Consider his letter to the Romans where no papacy can be found! Further his understanding of bishops is not the same as later Roman developments. Ignatius is no obstacle to being Protestant. In addition your quotation from Ignatius has no connection to the content in the video. But thanks for stopping by! God bless!
Much can be said but in short; the Holy Bible is internally interpretive (interprets itself) with help from the Holy Spirit (HS). Even then the HS may hold back some things until we are ready. By the Lord's divine will. God bless.
