Hi there everyone! I'm Theresa and I love to travel. It's no secret that I absolutely love to cruise, but I also love to visit historic homes, go antiquing and scrapbook as well. I also love travel gadgets that make traveling easier and more organized.
So why "The Empty Armchair"? I'm a bit of an armchair historian since I love to read history and I've seen references to "armchair historians" -- people who know a lot about history without leaving their home. I no longer want to just be an armchair traveler, but want to get out and experience travel on my own, hence "The Empty Armchair".
My hope is that you will be motivated to get out of your own armchair and do some exploring outside of your routine travel plans. I'm hoping you will pick up some new ideas as to types of vacations, where to go, how to make travel planning easier and do some exploring. The world is a big place and has loads of wonders and beauty to discover. So come along and join me on my travels!

It is ugly, it has something repulsive.... And what is funny, my 11 years old child saw it for the first time and said: "I don't like it at all...", and in my mind I was : "well, I'm not crazy" 😅
I had the same reaction when I first saw it. But it has been growing on me. I love the colors inside (the blues are from windows on the sea side whereas the reds are from windows on the mountain side).

Was this video meant to put me to sleep because it was titled like it was supposed to chronicle a horrendous crossing on a ship…I just returned from an Alaskan cruise and we had rougher seas on our voyage!!!
@@brucemoe9180 LOL! Most people expect a transatlantic crossing to be what you experienced in Alaska (and I have too when we cruised to Alaska in 2008). As you saw, we went during hurricane season and our crossing was pretty smooth. So you just never know what you’re going to get. Thanks for watching!

Because as mentioned in the other comments, I never saw her dress. It’s hard to take pictures of things you don’t see. These were taken in 2019, not this year.

Melania Trump’s gown was inspired by the Constitution. it was white, form-fitting, and the top had wispy chiffon. It also had a red thin sash that went around her waist. The sash represented a red ribbon tied around a rolled piece of paper, aka the Constitution. Melania is extremely patriotic.

@@skiddledede8885 It wasn’t that she was excluded. I never saw a dress for her. There were a lot of people there. It was hard enough at times to get what I did see.
@skiddledede8885 you have to understand too, there is a process the Smithsonian goes thru to get those gowns put in the right places. A lot of processes lol. If I remember correctly, she has officially donate the gown. They make a big production out of it. While Trump was in office, it should have been in the center case. And if I remember correctly, it was there. They often times have to also donate the entire ensemble. That means the shoes, jewelry, coats and purses.

Some of the first ladies are missing. Most recent ones-last 2 first ladies, and I dont think the first few presidents had a ball at all.
