My entry to NOVID November for Pause and Select. Yes I know it's bad and rambly and doesn't have much of a point. I don't make videos, but I got inspired by the challenge because why not.

I watched Texhnolyze and Ergo Proxy about the same time, although I prefer Ergo I consider both series well worth watching. They don't make Anime like they used to haha

個人的、鬱アニメっていったらそこ僕やlainって代表的だけどテクノライズにだけは勝てないと思ってる。これまでもこの先も含めて。 リアタイで蘭があんな姿になったのを見たときは心がおかしくなりそうだったよ。これ見終わって1週間は余韻と内容しか頭になくてもう何も考えたくなかったなぁ

quite posibly the biggest dissapoiment i've had in anime so far i hated every second of watching it and i hope this thrash piece rots in hell 0/10 ,ergo proxy was amazing masterpiece and you can't compared it to this crap that has no soul no value no nothing complete waste everything is dead and evil and shit,watch it if you want to kill yourself

Finished watching this anime just yesterday, and im going to be real honest here: its a good story, but holy shit it drags on 10 episodes just to get to the plot. I would only recommend people to watch the analysis people on youtube make and if they got interested to watch maybe 1st and episodes 11 to 22. I loved Ergo Proxy and Lain to bits, btw, and the fact i nearly slept with Texhnolyze is a new low... why didn't they use their time to make the characters more than just pain? when you know all dimensions a character has, it matters a lot more when they're gone. From the dozens of people that died i only mildly cared about two. Instead, we get about ten minutes of sewer scene. Still, if anyone wants to watch it whole, do it. The message is still kinda neat, even if there's literally no point lol edit: forgot to mention that besides everything i fucking love this song
It develops the ambience. Similar to the elevator scene in Evangelion or Kaworu getting crushed.
@@EzekielGoldbergII No. Ten episodes of nearly nothing is not "building ambiance". The first episode was enough, sincerely. See Lain. It's still slow as all hell but at least it gets to the point in 13 episodes - if Texhnolyze had the same amount of episodes, it wouldn't be so buried and forgotten like it is today. Which is a shame, because the above ground was extremely interesting to watch and the ost is awesome. edit, addition: also you mentioned scenes that last 1-2 minutes, scenes that actually build tension in the air. But they aren't spread around like it happened in here. In EVA, there are scenes that go and get you excited (huge robot fights) and scenes that leaves you puzzled (shinji's depression hellscape in the end), scenes that feel rewarding to watch - not just "oh people are poor and savages and poor and sad and crime rates and poor and dust dust-- like very dusty and colorless and poor," like yeah i get the point for fucks sake. And if you think that the ending is still oh-so-very-depressing the rebuilds work on a timeline where things are different for the better, a "what if there was some spark of hope?" that is very important to mention. It's not all just smoke and grime. "Oh but everyone there is made out of scum and criminals its going to be crap forever in there!" yeah because the children they bear should too be scum and criminals, Ichise is too then. No slight hint of hope or relief to cope allowed, ma'am, these guys are way past being human beings, they're made out of cardboard. Gotta sit with the boring tragedies with characters i couldn't care less about for a long, long time until the plot FINALLY picks up and then everybody dies. Cool. That Yakuza looking guy was probably the only one i felt sorry for LOL In short, /sigh/.
@@acronolozki Well there's not much to argue. I understand your point but it didn't bother me back when I watched it. Maybe I should give it another try. It's been years. I bet it still holds up. I'll reply again if I change my mind on those episodes.
