Desperate for inspiration, H.W. Reed, a former children's author, turns to the Film Noir channel for inspiration. The next morning, his life becomes the very novel he is trying so hard to write. Writing the Big One is an homage to the Film Noirs of the 1940s and 50s like Double Indemnity, The Third Man, and Sunset Boulevard, but with a modern twist.

While evading the local cops, a hungry bum takes on the clothing and persona of a wealthy executive, with no explanation as to how or why. At first being an executive is the good life. However, as the tale continues, our protagonist soon finds that the reality of the sweet life is not so sweet... Appeared in the 2012 Flyover Film Festival and the 2012 Orlando Film Festival.
