I am just starting fastpacking (at 68!) Thinking of doing this one in a day, though would be a much longer time than you, and with a lighter pack, as this is (just) doable for me. But I would also like to see the track from Totaranui to Wainui first, so would do that round trip the first day, then camp at Totaranui, and do the walk/jog you did the next day. But this would involve ditching my heavier pack so getting that taken back to the car around Kaiteri or as near as possible. Would you have any idea if that is logistically possible? Thanks

I see the Asianation of Auckland has gained pace even more since I left in 2006, that was some walk you did there, was that all in one day? would have liked to have seen a bit of Myers park, I used to live in the YMCA just opposite there in the 1970s and worked in Smith and Caughey in Queen street, surprising how grey and dismal everything looked but I suppose it's mid winter lol.
