Sadly the town isn't a patch on how it used to be. I moved here 1995, it was nice then. But we have had the same people in power for too long investing in all the wrong things. Window dressing rather than investing. For years the owners of the shopping mall ran it for max profit. As such, we lost the backbone of the centre. It's so bad now we have effectively a sex shop in the mall. Dildos can be seen from the door if Anne Summers. Rarely does a new store appear, at best they move from the now dead Abington Street. Council have just spend £millions on Abingdon St and the market, again, window dressing. It was already functional. They've built fountain number 3 or 4 now which within a year won't work like the others. They've murdered the market if our market town. They destroyed the functioning bus station and replaced it with one way too small meaning buses have to use the surrounding areas for stops. Because they are now outside the Drapery is now just a huge ashtray and very unpleasant. Murders in the town and knife crime are increasing, people smoke weed in the town centre because they can. Rough sleeping is very common. Down by H&M are all the druggies and alcoholics. It's just very unpleasant now. No, it's nothing to do with immigrants

To sum it up..its a shit hole.

The history of the town is why I visited, but the people of Warwick are so pleasant, that they and the town today made our visit so much better.

We only go into town now to dj or see bands & we are NN1, not the same these days for shopping but still love the place even if i have no idea what a German Doner kebab is.The one town i know of you can chat to a random person from say SF USA who wants to rubbish the place until you ask them what they did to end up here then & which is their favorite pub.

You Live Birmingham

I live on the border of Birmingham and Solihull, just inside Birmingham. Solihull is gorgeous and we are always popping into the town centre. Just for those divisive people, yes, Solihull is a separate town and a separate borough, so the title of this video should be changed. But to be honest, we don't have this problem locally. We enjoy both places and come and go seamlessly.

I saw you walk up gold Street in world War II a sterling bomber crashed in gold Street coming back from a bombing mission in Germany, you used to be able to see straight marks on the walls above the shops.
