I have one additional comment to make, and that is, I became a silent partner in the crime of his abuse. I stopped talking, and when I would talk, I was so stressed out, that my voice came out in like a whisper and pretty soon it came out like gravel because I couldn’t open up my throat. It turns out the same thing was happening to my friends who were married to friends of my husband and they were getting beat up too so we all sounded like a bunch of ducks because we just couldn’t speak.

When I was married the first time my first husband kept trying to kill me, whether it was hitting me in the head, breaking my ribs, pushing me out of the truck, slapping me black eyes you get the picture. I kept this as a deep dark secret because I did not see that I had any power to leave the relationship. So I didn’t tell anybody finally 30 years later when I was in a counseling session, the counselor told me how important it was for forgiveness and I thought well I don’t wanna forgive him and she said no, but how about forgiving yourself because when you forgive yourself, you’re relieving your brain of keeping all that crappy information up there secret and it gets in the way of joy. As you hide your truth and your secrets, you hide your joy and boy was she right. When I started working on forgiving myself, visualizing myself as a five-year-old girl in my parents house, where I knew my parents loved me, then I was able to start working on myself. Because she said well, if a five-year-old girl would come to your house and tell you all the things that have happened to you, would you turn her away, would you yell at her, would you say she’s stupid because she’s in pain? Of course not so she said forgive yourself over and over and over until you feel you can’t forgive yourself anymore and then if you can forgive me abuser, do that, but do it slowly because it is scary and you might not be totally willing to forgive everything he did. That has been really, really true. it’s what I’m working on now but anyway, the bottom line is keeping secrets steals your joy, and it does not help you at all to live the wonderful life you deserve. Don’t keep secrets. Find a way to let them out in a healthy way to people that you trust.

This is one of the best "Revenge" stories I've ever heard. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I put the word revenge in quotes because I realize that these stories are not so much about revenge in the traditional sense, but about empowerment. They provide examples of how to stand up to the bullies and manipulators of the world. I get encouraged every time I listen to one of these.

I know a woman whose husband on the way to being divorced had the wife’s brakes tampered with. She wrecked so hard she spent months in the hospital. It hit a big highway sign. It was so bad this woman had to live in a 5 acre area with alarms all over. And could hardly ever even drive. It was bad. Thst was about 25 yrs ago. When he died a yr or so ago of cancer, she had a drink with several friends at a local bar. Her children had finally figured out how their daddy really was.

My daughter was Vegan for a while, and then vegetarian. And so I made CERTAIN that she understood how much protein she needed every day, and about the vitamins. It is truly shocking how many people think that you can just quit eating meat. There are a LOT of healthy vegetarian and Vegans out there, but then they keep track of nutrition. There is too MUCH said about philosophy, and not NEARLY enough "you need this many beans (or tofu, or whatever) to stay healthy"!

Vegans refuse to accept that a strict vegan diet is not healthy. There have been cases where babies have died because of the completely inadequate vegan diet being fed to them by their stubborn, deluded parents! Chloe sounds like the type of person who would watch her child slowly starve to death, all the while insisting that she was feeding the child a healthy diet. Elder abuse only applies to vulnerable elderly people who are being abused either by family or caretakers. It's ridiculous to accuse a mother of elder abuse towards her son.!

Never date vegans. Veganisim isn't just about their diet. It's a cult that demands control over their lives including not using animal products for non food purposes. Most vegetarians are good people and can be reasoned with, but vegans are zealots. To them any compromise will be met with accusations that you like hurting animals out of cruelty.
