Finally got a good weather window to try and find the Gilt Dragon , On the night of the 28 April 1656, Vergulde Draeck struck a submerged coral reef midway between what are now the coastal towns of Seabird and Ledge Point, Western Australia. On board were 193 crew, eight boxes of silver coins worth 78,600 guilders and trade goods to the value of 106,400 guilders.[4][5][6] Of the 193 crew, 118 a...
Richelieu Rock Dive Thailand
Переглядів 65511 місяців тому
Took a speed boat from the marina at khao lak , 2 hr north to Richelieu rock, barely visible you can see just a small piece of this pinnacle rock at low tide, plenty of fish life and colour, a lot of soft corals , water temp was 28c no need for wetsuits here, suppose to be one of the top 10 dives sites in the world, was a great dive but didn’t blow my mind

nice spot mate. Grotto is gods country! Keep posting mate
New fan of your channel! How deep is this one?
@@rhysdehaan gets to 35m
@JaysonDyer are the many really good shipwrecks at rotto up to 18m? Some big ones with swim throughs? Thanks for the reply!
@ haven’t explored any around rottnest yet, good site to check out locations of wrecks is divingwawrecks.com
How deep did you go? Was it just in the channel created by the rocks? Amazing video! Beutiful place, right next to the natural aquaruim too!
The outer wall 20m
@@JaysonDyeris the current usually strong everywhere? Would you always need scooters to not get swept away? Thanks for the reply😊
@ don’t think so, just makes it easy to get out and back rather than surface swimming
awseome bro where was this?

awesome bro im doing it, thank you for subscribing to me,
Thank you, nice footage, great to see some 'pinkies" together + some type of Nannygai's + a lone sad Sambo (normally not solitary) and some Bat's Must be a marine park(?), hence the good numbers as they are both (Pink/Nanny) v.much sought after......always great to see them alive, instead of dead and defeated.....

Hey Jayson, Great content as usual. What depth was this? That Wobby guarding the Honey Hole was intense.
Cheers, 34m
@@JaysonDyer Do you have any advice for avoiding getting Narced whilst hunting at that depth?
@@bradgardiner7335 not really, I’ve yet to get narced
Thanks,
What a dive, how good was that! Target rich environment! Well done, loved the video, Dive safe, have fun! 😁👍🍻
We were just up there, crazy place to run aground hey, the country side is not really the most productive for surviving is you are from Northern hemisphere! Great video, loved the footage, cheers for sharing it! stay safe, have fun! 👍🤗🍻
Yeah unreal spot, very harsh environment to be ship wrecked
That was really cool, cheers for sharing that! Stay safe, have fun! 👍🍻

Awesome footage👍Makes me want to get into diving, unfortunately it's out of my budget. 😢
Nice, you found it, cool patch of reef hey? definately a low swell location. great video!
Yeah so much colour and life there, would of been good if they left some more of the wreck there, than just the cannons and anchors, still a great dive, have you dived the one off guilderton
Yeah there is not much left to see, nice site though. The wreck off Guilderton is that the " VILLE DE ROUEN"? No I have not dived it, looks like it could be worth a look though, not sure where to launch from though.@@JaysonDyer
@@stevehutchinson3465 yeah that’s the one, I reckon you might be able to launch from guilderton
@@JaysonDyer I will have to check out the beaches on a calm day, from memory there can be a bit of a shore break there. I’ve often thought about a charter company, coming North like Image or Western Blue, doing a stop over on the way up to the Key Biscayne. I will check out the beaches next time I go past on a low swell.
Surprised you swam past the crays 😂 Looks like good conditions. Nice one.
There was a few jumbos on it
Hello, Im heading down in a fortnight to dive the HMAS Perth, I see in a comment below it is 34 meters to the bottom, I was wondering about the water temp and which wetsuit to wear, Ill be doing it near the end of March which looks like the same time of year you did it?
I dived in a 3mm same time of year your diving it, but I dive most of the year in a 3mm, cant remember the temp, the mooring line if you’re using you own boat isn’t attached to the boat and you end up in near zero visibility at the bottom, so swim over to the crows nest sticking out of the water and go down
Cool Video by the way!
Thanks for the tips, I also dive in a 3mm surfing suit most of the year but being Albany I might wear my 4/3. I do a bit of Surfing as well as Diving. I see another of your videos you recently posted was in Japan in the snow, my cousin was there at the same time you might know him Jay Flynn?@@JaysonDyer
@@stevehutchinson3465 yeah I know jay, he got there just after me, dive the Cheynes wreck also if you have good weather that’s a good dive, only 18m
@@JaysonDyer cheers I will try and get that in as well😉
Hey mate do you have any more footage of that bronze whaler, that was me trying to swim with it.
I’ll have a look when I’m back home , just over seas at the moment
@@JaysonDyerno worries mate, thanks!
Cool video man gave me some good memories. I went to Richelieu Rock in 2015 when I was pretty new to diving. Loved it had epic conditions and got to do 4 dives in 1 day there. We had like 30m vis and a whale shark on 3 out of the 4 dives. Plus the huge amount of other marine life around. Would definitely say it would classify as a top 10 dive site. I went again 2 years later but we only had the weather to go out there for 1 dive. Vis was pretty bad but still full of life, but nothing big or special. I would say definitely worth giving it another shot if you ever get the chance again.
nicew mate, what depth were you at out of interest?
