I enjoyed that show! What about that same guy trying to bully security in the back because he towed over them. He and his crew were larger sized and disruptive... Until Hard Rock dispatched their giant security force... They calmed down and we're escorted out of the hall. Trump will allow American natural gas drilling, which has been largely reduced since Biden took office. Cheaper gas means prices on store shelves will not rise as quickly. In this economy, everything must be shipped, so the price of gas affects everything. Inflation is a big issue right now and having cheap energy will help a lot of people. Russia’s budget relies on selling oil. If the price of oil is low, which happens when supply increases, then Russia will not be able to afford this war. Pumping oil in the US is a non-violent means to ending Russian aggression. The same thing applies to Iran and Venezuela, who are both oil-rich. So yes, I think Trump will go a long way in stopping wars and helping the economy.

Good point. They want to pick and choose responsibilities it seems. I would think that as much as the conservatives in Texas have talked about cessation, some might be open to it though if they could be their own country.

This is generally true. It is necessary to note that the Republican party of then is not the same of today. The parties underwent a long transformation that essentially saw them flip.

I'd almost agree but I'd disagree with categorizing the cause as being over "states rights" since the right was almost exclusively that of maintaining slavery. It was even noted in several of the documents of cessation from many of the states. Why is it so hard to admit definitively that that was the cause?

Slavery was explicitly mentioned in the declarations of secession of several Southern states. It was the central reason for the war from the beginning.

The war started over politics and land . Slavery came into the picture about middle way of the war cause of Abraham Lincoln.

​@@nuanceshow well yeah there will be documents about slavery but the fact and you can look it up is that the civil war didn't begin because of slavery. Slavery issue came into the picture when Lincoln was up for reelection. Also the wanted to free the slaves so they could serve in the union army . Some slaves were even promised freedom if they serve in the army .

@@jimblevin1415 That's partially true with some Black people serving in the army. However, the war started in 1861 and the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't until 1863. The war was already going on. Those secessionist documents citing slavery had already been issued years earlier. That's because slavery was the main reason behind the Civil War and the Southern states wanting to leave the union. They wanted to keep enslaving people.
