i just finally figured out the name of this stuff that I listened to in high school (I always called it French electro yet with stuff like Klaxons and MGMT which were adjacent, that didn't quite fit the bill, though they were related) Justice, Daft Punk, MSTRKRFT, Mr Oizo, Ratatat, Hot Chip, Erol Alkan, early Steve Aoki, Bloody Beatroots, Soulwax, Simian Mobile Disco, with similar-yet-different collaborators like Bloc Party, Klaxons, MGMT, Spank Rock, Scenario Rock, Death from Above) Was quite literally my stuff back in high school, 2007-2011. Never got to any of the parties though but it always got me hyped (up until dubstep got popular around 2010). Truly a special time. Was definitely proto-EDM (at least, EDM before it was commonly known as EDM). And probably explained why I dove into EDM the way I did

At the time, I was only like 11 and wouldn't know about bloghouse until around 2010 when I got into electronic music via Benny Benassi, deadmau5, and especially Daft Punk. I heard Justice and would discover other related artists here and there. Sucks that I wasn't able to experience what it felt like going to see these artists during the peak of such a short, yet special era I love how it reminds me of the DIY punk scene and it shares a lot of similarities. How electronic music and rock came together, whether it was in sound, energy, or both. Now that I'm 26, I long for some sort of resurgence that could maybe somewhat recapture what it felt like. I know that'll never really happen again though, as you just can't replicate that sort of thing Also, thanks for making this video! I really wish there were video essays regarding this topic, but it really is an overlooked, semi-forgotten time, it seems ):

I loved blogging in the late 200's you could find everything at the time, even outside of Blog House itself, which was fantastic on its own. It was full control for finding what you need and each blog opened up a world to another one. Didn't know this entire era was named "bloghouse". I'm here after seeing a TikTok compilation of some popular bloghouse tracks. This music was so incredibly formative for me! Unfortunately, I wasn't old enough to experience it in the raves/nightclubs. It was the puberty between scene/emo and hipster.

Those were the good old days, when we would be on HypeMachine, then redirected to some blog and download a low-quality mp3, that we would then transfer to our Zune, iPod or cellphone! I remember always being on blogs like AsianManDan and Illictronix, I'll go Google them now to see if they still exist. I guess I'm getting old now lol

I hella loved how gritty and awkward it was listening to 128kbps songs on my iPod nano lol. Hooked it up to my car with aux cables... Now my music in my car responds to voice commands 😒

I feel that Bloghouse was the catalyst for what came ahead within electronic music scenes, emphasis on more playful and bold graphic design, bangers, huge music festivals, fashion and artists carving in their own identity and aesthetic that carries on to this day. This era was responsible for making electronic music "cool" again, I remember it being so looked downed upon growing up as a teen in the 00's.

It just was a different time. There wasn’t social media at our fingertips with apps. Things got around slower. Indie rock and electronic music also collided in a very special way during this period. Instagram was essentially party blogs like the cobra snake and last nights party back then. Snarky satire of the whole culture which seemed to reject the idea of being under a “hipster” title, like the blog hipster runoff.

Is it a good idea to buy an original pixel this late into 2018? I want a nice, clean phone with a headphone jack and stuff and I’m a major camera guy so the pixel seems like a good choice, but it’s been more than 2 years and I’m wondering if it’s still fine to get one.
Hurricane if you can find it less than $250 still a good deal. But I've seen pixel 2 for low prices too.

It's still a great phone. It's on Android 9 now and it is very fast. Just make sure the battery isn't worn out. Or it will have to be disassembled to be replaced.

@@GameGangTV I think the best i ever got was 4 hours and 9 minutes of sot before it shut down. It was heavy usage before putting it down before bed, then picking it back up to use again. Battery lasted 7 hours of off a full charge.

can you give an honest opinion on battery life after andriod P?
The battery life after Android P is still mediocre. With light social media, Google News, texting and camera use throughout the day, I'd be 40% by the end of the day, more or less. It's definitely not a battery-power house, just know that.

Mohamad Wahba I would say it would maybe require a top-up once during the day. It doesn't have rapid charging, only regular charging. It charges while the screen is on yes.

How is the battery life?
Chiva915 battery life is sick. Lasts me all day. By the end of the day it's about at 60% with light social media and messaging throughout the day.
@@julsmelrose that's sounds great! I have the Pixel XL and the battery sucks, at least on mine. I'm not much of a heavy user and I have to charged at work before going home because it's at 30% or 40%.

I charge mine every night around 10 n it lasts until i recharge at 10 the next day at 40%

I use Rogers here in Toronto, Canada. Yeah the reception and service was really good. I'd never experienced any problems. I believe it supports most of the major frequencies.

Beachboy 52 if you're using it throughout the day heavily, it's mediocre. On standby and light use, really good. I believe it should be good for another year or so, yes.
