Thanks for sharing. Do you use all-purpose flour or bread flour?
So if you added ,warm water you could only wait about 1-2 hrs. ?
Good question. No, this bread needs to sit at least over 8 hours regardless. If you have any more questions, please ask. This is one of my favorite bread recipes, and it is really easy!
I usually go with the 2-1-1/2 method, 2 cups self-rising flour, 1/2 cup oil, 1 cup milk. Though recently my mind has been blown by how good two ingredient biscuits are. 2c self-rising flour, 1 and 1/2c heavy whipping cream. Light, fluffy, and almost no effort.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I don't usually use self-rising flour. It is not one of the staples I keep in my house. Do you ever make your own, or do you use store-bought? I am looking forward to trying your two-ingredient biscuit recipe sometime. It doesn't sound healthy, but it does sound good!
@@spendwisemoms Store bought. Adding salt and baking powder to all-purpose is essentially making self-rising so feels easier to me to just keep a small bag of all-purpose for the off occasion I need it specifically.
Good video!
Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
How do you feel about using a steamer to clean the inside of your refrigerator?
I have never used a steamer to clean the inside of my fridge. Tell me more about the process you use. Usually, my fridge doesn't get very dirty. An easy wipe down on a regular basis is what I usually do.
I've never done it before, I was just asking.I have some really sticky spots at the bottom.
Every one thinks I'm wierd but if you squeeze the Box you can find the bigger one sometimes you can aslo normally spot the better ones with the blue expiration date not the ones that only has black txt for the expiration date. Most of the time they are better😊
Are you talking about Honey Maid graham crackers alone, or comparing the different brands? That process might also help with cold cereal, being able to determine just how much cereal is in the box. If you have found a good method that works for you, that is great.
That's what I need to do, one small clutter at a time
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Declutteirng can be very challenging for some people.
@@spendwisemoms Thanks!
Omg I love your channel so much! Just stumbled over one of your videos 2 days ago and can’t stop watching. So informative, relaxed and super helpful! You definitely do not get the attention on this platform you‘d deserve. It’s mindblowing to me how you don’t have hundred thousands of subscribers. I’m definitely a huge fan already. Please keep up with everything you do. You are so appreciated and I’m sending you a massive THANK YOU. Best wishes from Switzerland and of course a happy new year 🎆 xoxo Sandra
Wow, you sure made my day. Thanks for the kind remarks. I hope you have a nice day today and if there are suggestions you have for videos, don't hesitate to let me know.
I worked with a Gal years ago and she made these biscuits. I had never heard of using Oil and not Shortening.
I was surprised the first time I tried it with oil, but it sure is easier than shortening and healthier as well. I have changed over to oil instead of shortening in making tortillas as well.
Do you have other channels!? Your voice sounds familiar! Fabedhacks?
I always shop marked down items at my grocery stores. Check the date, look over perishables closely. If I don't plan to cook/prepare and eat right away, I freeze. I get really good deals.
Thanks for sharing your comment. Buying marked-down items sure can help to stretch your grocery food budget. I find it hard to pay full price now!
Looks good and so simple. I never tried leaving the dough overnight to rise. Now I will, to see what happens.
How did the bread turn out for you? Another benefit of making this bread is that it uses a lot less yeast 12 times as much bread using the same amount of yeast you would use for some other bread recipes.
Exactly what I was needing, using for baked ziti tonight!!! Thanksgiving so much ❤️
I am so glad it worked for you. Have a great day.
New sub!! I will definitely try these. They look delicious. Are you using All Purpose Flour? 😊
I use Wheat Montana flour. I believe it is an unbleached flour. It is heavier than other flours, kind of like King Arthur flour. I usually always use All Purpose Flour in the breads I make instead of bread flour and they always work out well. I hope that answers your question. Have a great day.
🎉❤❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤ Wow amazing
Thanks. Hope you enjoyed it!
I love this!
Thank you.
Amazing recipe, it looks absolutely delicious! I will definitely try it myself. I’ve subscribed to your channel and liked the video to support your work. I also have a cooking channel, and I’d love for us to support each other and share our passion for cooking 👍🧡💚💙
I just wanted to say thank you. I just went over to the recipe and I can see that you put a lot of work in to that. It is much appreciated.
I hope you enjoy it. I have found that if I put it in a 9x13 it seems to cook more thoroughly, but it isn't as nice and big as a 9x9.
Thank you!! I’m getting the recipe right now!
How did your cornbread turn out? Did you like it? I started using a 9x13 pan sometimes when having more people over. It isn't as tall, but it works just fine.
I was always told to separate the salt from the yeast, but you certainly don't.
I was always told that too. In my experience, I have found that it depends on the recipe. If it was a sweet bread recipe with eggs and lots of butter, I would mix the yeast and sugar with the water or milk ahead of time and let it bubble. In this recipe, it works like a charm without separating it. But, you do what makes you feel comfortable.
After trying every different brand & type of yogurt that I can find in my area, ZOI is easily the thickest that I can find. Out of 6 different local big name chain supermarkets, only 1 carries ZOI. Food For Less has all the flavors. My favorites are strawberry, orange & lemon. Good stuff.......
Thank you for sharing! Hope it will help someone else as well.
Great - thank you ... looks like a variation of scons ... w'd add a teaspoon of sugar for full tast
Thanks for your comment!
I just made Apple raisin with cinnamon it was delicious, now I am making walnut raisin tommrow I let it rise in the refrigerator ,overnight and I also make cheddar cheese
Wow, you are sure creative trying different ways to make it. Let us know how the walnut raisin and the cheddar turn out.
@spendwisemoms i took the cheddar cheese out of the oven, waiting for it to cool off ,so I can wrap it ,and freeze it, the walnut raisin came out perfectly, I was using bread flour a lot, but when I couldn't find it ,I am using all purpose, at the moment
I was hoping you would tell us why it is called artisan bread. What makes it "artisan"?
in bread making an artisan loaf seems like another term for a rustic loaf...it's just a very simple loaf made without a lot of ingredients or tools, and is different/more simple than sourdough or sandwich loaves, it's just what it's called.
@@pstmdrn_werewolf Thanks for explaining that. I tried googling it but I got poor results.
@@pstmdrn_werewolf Well, I wrote a reply saying thank you, but I guess YT deleted it for whatever reason. So here's another.
@@Simrealism You're very welcome! Glad I could help!
For some reason, YT is not publishing some of the comments. I am not sure why. I am sorry that happened. Artisan bread rises longer, is cooked at a higher heat, and has a harder crust than some of the other breads.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
I'm older, still work, part-time, live alone and meal prep. Try to keep my groceries under $25/wk, and often spend less. Check loss leaders at local grocery stores in their sale ads. Lidl has 10# bags of chicken leg quarters go on sale every few weeks for $6.90, which works out to $.69/lb! I get SOOOO many meals out of a bag and keep some in the freezer. Each leg quarter is huge, and you can cut it to get a leg and thigh out of each piece. GREAT for making a crockpot of soup, which will get you 8-10 meals of warm, healthy deliciousness, and can also be frozen in individual portions for later. Don't forget Turkey for Thanksgiving, when it's often priced super low and provides pounds of meat to use year round! Happy saving, everyone :)
Thank you for sharing your tips. It is so helpful to hear other people's experiences. Thanksgiving is coming up soon! Let us know if you see some good prices for holiday foods.

Good job
Thank you!
One of my favorite ways to save money is look around my neighborhood and see if there is a house that is obviously not using the fruit falling off their trees. I knock on the door and ask if they mind if i pick it up. I have filled hundreds of jars this way. Its a win win, since i get lots of fruit, and they don't have to clean up the mess. I am very rarely turned down.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing that. There is so much free food around. We know some people who go on a vacation every year when their garden is in full bloom. The people who take care of their home while they are gone get so much produce, and it could last them through Christmas if they preserved it.
Dates are simply suggestions. The products have NO IDEA what date it is. Way too OCD, & replacing them is hardly a “spend-wise” tactic.
Sounds like we have different opinions on this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a great day.
My brothers and my sisters sour cherry trees hardly had any either. My brother also had problems with his green beans, which usually bas so many he just gives them away. He has canned up to 100 quarts in a season from just a medium size patch. Az high desert.
Thanks for sharing that. Not that misery loves company, but it is nice to know that others have had the same challenges.
could even put a bit of sugar in it.
Thanks for your suggestion!
🥰👍

Dominos has some pretty good deals if you order online or in their app. You can earn points for free food. Our family rule is that we don't eat out unless there is a coupon or you get something free in the app. I love that Taco Bell fill-up box you mentioned. That is enough calories for one day if you get the right items. You can save some for a later meal.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I will have to check out the Domino's app.
this was useful, thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Have a great day.
A lot of my things are in pots. I am renting, and I only have a small space. I don't let that stop me.
Thank you for sharing that. Hopefully it will inspire others to do the same.
I can taste those veggies and fruits! We use pots exclusively now due to varmints and bad knees. We have a yellow harvest apple tree, rhubarb and black and red raspberries. Containers grow chives, onions, spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and probably a couple other things my husband is trying for fun. Happy gardening.
Thanks for sharing. We realized that it is much easier to garden with boxes as well. What are some of your favorite ways to use your rhubarb?
I do that too.
Thanks for your comment. Please feel free to share other things you do that work well for you.
Great ideas.
Thank you! 😊
Good tips. Her speaking voice is kind of slow paced and sing-song. I found myself nodding off to sleep 😴
Hope you had a good sleep!
I shopped my freezers and pantries for food to cook. Wasn’t any loss leaders this week I wanted. I shop only loss leaders and add them to what I have on hand. We are eating well and and simple.
That is a great way to shop. It seems there are fewer and fewer loss leaders these days, but it is good to scoop them up when we can. Thank you for your comment.
That's pretty much it use up what we have in our freezer first
Isn't it great when the freezer has good food to fall back on? It saves time and money!
The house does not look sparse to me. It looks smart and uncluttered. I would feel very comfortable there. I do wonder though about all those canned goods. Is it stock for a food pantry?
Thanks for your positive feedback. I try to keep at least 3 months of food around. It is nice because I can usually pay the price I want and it is there if there weather is bad or I don't want to go to the store. If I want to use my grocery money for sales or something special like a spiral ham or a turkey, I have enough food to get us through the week on hand, so I can do that. It sure was wonderful to have when Covid hit and I didn't have to worry about going to the store and fighting the crowds.
Wise advice!
Thank you. Have a nice day!
When you said, "What's ALLOWED in my home," I was really struck. I have been taking my collection of vintage stuff to the Habitat for Humanity thrift shop and feel good about it. Stuff I bought inexpensively back in the '90's. So I guess I "rented" it for a while. Benefits both me and Habitat.
Good for you for finding a good place to donate your things. Keep up the good work!
7 y ago i came back to live with my widowed mum in the big home, with my hubby and child. The process to get rid of my father's tools and stuff (metal stuff, car parts and so on) was already ongoing outside the house. But my mum kept lots and lots of old stuff in the house. Her words always was "you can change what you want when i'll be dead'. But i was very overwelmed. now my mom is 87, weelchair and incapable. I decided to not wait any longher. I'm almost 50 now, if i wait i will not have the energy to do the death cleaning! the life was already full. So, deathcleaning it is.
Wish you the best of luck. I think that attitude if very common with parents since it can be difficult to go through your own things. Good for you for tackling it now and not waiting until later. You can both enjoy a peaceful home and she will be able to get around easier in a wheelchair with less stuff in the home. Thanks for sharing.
