This is the last DE60LF built by New Flyer after the model was discontinued in 2009. It is one of three remaining DE60LFs in the Sound Transit fleet. This is route 554 from Eastgate to Downtown Seattle via I90.

First time I’ve taken a 60’ on the 271. This is from Bellevue to Eastgate. I cut out some of the agonizing delays due to construction because it was a LOT of sitting and waiting. Cummins ISL9 with Allison H 50 EP hybrid system.

Route 3 from Downtown Tacoma to just prior to Tacoma Mall TC. Pierce Transit still went with the red interior lighting on these. Makes it a whole lot easier to see outside when it’s dark vs having blue lighting. Cummins Westport L9N with Allison B400R

Quick trip to SeaTac station from Tukwila Station on the A Line. Not sure how much longer these are going to be around. There’s still a decent number of the LFAs in service but more DE60LFRs and XDE60s run the A and F lines. Cummins ISL with Allison EP 50 hybrid

This is exactly why the high surf and beach hazard warnings exist. It’ll be calm looking for a minute and then a massive wave runs up the beach taking out everything in its path. Heed the warnings and stay off the beaches when there’s a storm.

    I was up at cape disappointment on that day lined up with about 50 photographers taking pictures The nice thing about that location you can see the waves from the side and te crash against a cliff sending them back out to collide with the incoming waves

    I grew up right on the coast in-between Boston and capecod, everyday I'd ask, when's hightide. The blue/green Atlantic is in my blood. Oregon's coast is one of my favorites. The Pacific is awesome.

      @@MisterAutistictransitfanman It’s been a while since I’ve seen any of the Phantoms in service. Most of them have been removed from routes service and gone to the worker/driver fleet.

      @@MisterAutistictransitfanman I got lucky the last two times I was riding in Bremerton and one of the older LFs showed up. No predictability ahead of time, especially since their stupid app doesn’t even display half the buses in service.

    The NFTA in Buffalo NY had 2005 Gillig Low Floors with the same powertrain, but they have all been retired by December 2023.

      @@seacoffeelover Yea, thats part of why I said sometimes they should just *not* with the fans, I have a video where the fans cut off for like 10 seconds on the 2 line and its like a feeling of relief when everything just quiets down and calms down. It was on a kinkisharyo too.

    I remember this particular bus ran on route 2 quite often. This one in particular had a rough-sounding motor when accelerating and coming to a stop. Most of the others had a deeper sound.

      @@seacoffeelover These buses runs on 212/217 at certain times. IIRC caught one between 10:45AM to 2PM. 2 35' electric Low-floors have been on the road. I'd unofficially designate these buses as ("35E-Series")

    Was SeaTac/Airport still under construction at the time this video was shot? Because I remember when the Link first opened all trains terminated at Tukwila International

      SeaTac is open and they extended it further south. Angle Lake is the end of the line for now, I think it’s about a mile south of Seatac Airport. They are in the middle of construction on another giant expansion to Federal Way.

    I just rode one of these that TriMet put into service this week. Sounds exactly the same as this Kitsap one - I agree, definitely reminds me of the 4100’s a little bit. That axle and electric motor combo make it sound like those

      That wasn't the tornado - the tornado was on the other side of the house (you can tell from the direction the debris is coming from). There was a high-end EF2, near EF3, tornado with 130mph winds confirmed on that day, damaging over 200 homes and leveling a storage facility.

      @@buckleytransit Bus Captains/Operators announces key stops/timepoints. No automated announcements are made for this agency. (source): frequent transit rider. Of course, without automated announcements (unlike King County) not all operators announce stops. But that's not a big deal, and quite normal.
