I’d like to propose the idea of the atomic age starting in 1950 or 1951 there’s definitely a different character to the comics post World War II but it doesn’t seem to be till 1948 or 49 with the books. Start to feel a little bit different and starts to look a little different, we could even suggest the founding of Atlas comics in 1951 as the official start of the atomic age

I love Charles Biro Boy Comics and Crime covers. I collect Boy Comics prior to issue 60 - if you notice closely - he stops wearing his blue cape at issues # 60.

Excellent questions and answers... Comic collecting is such a fun hobby and you dont have to be rich to achieve a worthwhile collection... I only have a very limited budget of about £10 - £15 a week and try to collect 100 books a year and 12 graded books if I can ... I've collected comics from an early age and it's taken sometime to realise the kind of books I want to collect but it was a learning process and I'm always learning new things about the hobby... it's so great to have collectors like you and Stephen on UA-cam who have such a vast knowledge of comic history to share with others and it's always nice to see books I've never seen before and appreciate the art and time you give... Other than they were both published by EC Comics, Frontline Combat was definitely NOT like Mad. It was a realistic war book.

Crazy indeed! I hope that it all works out and collectors get their books returned to them. I watched a video, can't remember the channel(s) at the moment, but where a book or books were sent in to one of the grading/cleaning/pressing companies and in their observation the book looked different than what they sent in. It's sad that trust is broken like this. ~Eric

How come you're having trouble reading words? Are you ok?

Well the FMV for a 2.5 is around $2200 in 2024 so if you held onto the book you did pretty well. I was able to trade for a raw copy that came back a 1.8. Happy to have one in the PC.

Believe it or not, my wife actually agrees with you on this topic. I have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in the last 8 years for my future. Alone with that I have bought and sold comics and have been able to use the money to buy cars and vacations. My wife sees how savvy I am at that and encourages me to keep going. I personally would rather have a huge savings account and a ton of investments. She would like to see me diversify into collectibles as well. So I have 90% of my future in investments and savings, which is what I would recommend.

You should send all your books to heritage and get an Action 1.

More fun 101 is a beast of a book. Yes Superboy isn’t on the cover as is Wonder Woman on All Star 8 but what is going for The lack on cover appearance is it’s the first time you see Joe-el and Lar-el Superman’s parents for the first time in comics.
