I remember that night.

I don't remember exactly, but this may have been the first movie--or one of the first--that I ever watched on AMC (back when AMC wasn't pure dreck). Despite whatever slaggings this House movie got from stuffy critics, I just fell in love with it. With a feature co-starring Lon Chaney and Karloff, what was there not to like? And--back in the day--this movie was packaged on a double bill with the Mummy's Curse... 👍

Some of the best and most-well produced LIVE television in broadcasting history. It has and will never be replaced. Pure joy in every single show.

Mr.Chaney didn't want to take on his famous father's first name..he wanted to have an acting career of his own as Chreighton Chaney. But? None of the studio execs wanted to use that name.They made it clear to him.."Look..if you want better acting roles in our films..you either take on your dad's first..name..or? You'll still get the minor roles that we've given to you".

I miss these horror marathons. In a way, there's nothing to miss; these movies are easier than ever to find online, but these programmed marathons made it an event

I remember when American Movie Classics used to show old movies like HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN uncut and free of commercial, and was in hog heaven in the late 1080s and early 1990s. Didn't have it for a time, but got it back just in time for my favorite movie channel to show commercials in the middle of the movie, then throughout the movie's broadcast. Then there was the name change to AMC, the dropping of those old movies like a bad habit. American Movie Classics lives on only in the memories of people like myself who used to see it on extended basic cable. Now there's only Turner Classic Movies. Bob Dorian (RIP) was a terrific host, and so were Nick Clooney and Neil Gabler.
