@@nickw8071 the train station is in the heart of Pinhão which is a very small village. Moving around town and visiting the tasting rooms is all walking distance

You sure can, there are quite a few buses leaving from both bus stations in Lisbon daily and the trip takes about one hour and a half

I booked the two in the video, Casa Bomfim and Quinta das Carvalhas. They are both 5 minutes walking distance from the train station

@@GoTravelPlanet - Did you book them directly on their website? Also where did you book the boat tour? Can i just get there and book the boat tour?

@@duskywanderer if your going during high season, maybe you would be better off booking in advance ( TripAdvisor) otherwise you can do everything there on the spot

The two hour boat I believe it’s a bit too long, I would suggest the one hour tour and that extra hour spend it at a wine tasting. As for Regua, hmmm not much to see there. Much better if you go straight to Pinhão

Scenery upstream from Pinhão is beautiful but you would need more time

@@GoTravelPlanet thanks for your replies. I think that you can only do a 2 hour trip from Pinhao on the boat. Based on your replies, I think we will get the train to Pinhao and do the boat trip from there, go to a port house and maybe hire a kayak for 1-2 hours (or just have a walk along the river) before getting the train back to Porto in the evening

@@TheKayakCrew They offer both boat trips, one hour and two hours. There are three or four companies doing so. The two hour is too long. Enjoy your trip! Ther's another video of the Douro coming up soon, so stay tuned :)

Just their own little bus tour to the top of the hills (vineyards) it took about an hour and it was very affordable with Porto wine tasting included. I cannot remember exactly how much I paid for it but I believe it was just under 20 Euros. Totally worth it
