I dont think it was fire damage, if it was you would have zero house left, I think it is more likely it was either storm damage or an animal attack on your walls.

Great job on your first bear! Icarus is one of my all-time favorite games. I've enjoyed watching you play! Looking forward to the next one 👍🏾👍🏾 Make the contact device as soon as you can. You get great xp and some missions give really useful rewards. Last tip, always skin the carcasses if you can. You don't have to loot it, but killing and skinning will give you leveling xp and xp towards your bestiary skills.. which will give nice perks as you lvl it.

Salt is used in the salting station - it doubles the spoil time of any treated food (raw and cooked).

I have been following you since the start, you are doing good although some of your research decision are a little wild, the one thing you should add to the first items made on your Anvil is the knife to add to what you have already done. I was surprised you did really great against the bear LOL I died four times to the damn things at first try. Something you can use to your advantage against the bear is to jump into the river and he is far easier to kill in the water as he cant attack you while he swims and you can make mince meat out of him with your knife or spear. Keep going you are doing well

You need the Oxide Dissolver and the Oxygen Skin, possibly a water skin to hold purified water. You will be using the Oxide dissolver till Tier 4, when you can unlock the Electric one. Also unlock the Longbow as it has more durability and damage. To mine Titanium/Platinum/Aluminium you need a Steel Pickaxe minimum. Exotics - The whole game is based on mining of Exotics. The Concept is, the Planet was Terraformed to mine these Exotics. You can send the collected Exotics back to the station through OES (Orbital Exchange Service Pods). You can sell them for the Currency REN, and buy tools and stuff from the Workshop. Caveworms - Fight them as usual, use any melee weapon, Spear is good as it has good reach. Also you can break the Hives before, they release the bees with your Bow and Arrow from a distance.

At lvl 2 after the work bench you should first make the furnace, then the anvil, this way you can go into iron tools and weapons, next should be the oxite maker and at least two oxite bladders, next will be the water skin, these will give you more range and time in gathering and you can then start to work towards stone building a must for long time survival

Bee's + knife = dead bees, use arrows to destroy the nest and the bees will stop spawning after you kill the last of them with your knife

A good start but still a long way to go and so much fun to be had yet. Keep it going you will be surprised what you can accomplish in this fantastic game...But, watch your back, if it moves it has the ability to kill you so stay aware of your surroundings :)

You need to put beams below and in your structure, for proper build. Generally you have to lay out the beams, use Page-Up/Down to choose the required height and then start putting your floors on top. Then you also put the beams on the corners and middle of the walls.

Bow and Arrow is a long range weapon. A knife is a close range/melee weapon. So when an animal charges you on your face, you do not go inside your shack and hide, instead you switch to knife and attack. Also unlock Bone Arrows and Bone Knife, till Level 10, when you can unlock Iron weapons and tools.

You can put the camp fire in you base... just don't run over it .

First time watching. Nice Video ! As you were asking. A day - a video is a convenient format, i also like that you only put travelling off camera. Keep the building stuff in timelapses. You could well do with a bit more general commentary, just explanatory stuff or your thinking behind things you currently do. It might also be a good idea to refer to the general gist of the series or long term goals you currently have. Some people are rude like me and pop in in Episode 8. TL; DR; Just more commentary and sharing your thoughts everything else is excellent afaic.

Pro tip: Harvest with power attack. You get the same amount of resources and it goes way faster.
