The Buck Stops Here?

These two bucks are putting on a show, but the passing doe doesn't seem too infatuated with the machismo. This display happened during my pre-dawn bike ride into work Wednesday on Rolla's Acorn Trail. If only I had a "real" camera and there were also two S&T-clad students in the background.

Greentree Christian Church mortgage burning
Переглядів 1002 роки тому
Once in a generation, a church has a "mortgage burning," where congregants celebrate the end of loan payments on a church debt. The bank note is paid off and the church can burn it, or in this case, a huge reproduction of the document. Last night, Greentree Christian Church celebrated their debt retirement for their sanctuary by having a long-time pastor, Timothy Cook, and the elder who gave th...
Preparing to teach: How I transformed a Sunday school lesson from words into video.

I am a "video guy," so I decided to make a video instead of just reading my notes aloud to the class I teach. How does one tackle visualizing and teaching a difficult Holy Bible question, turned into an accusation against God such as: "Does the bible condone genocide?" into a visual answer? Go behind the scenes as I spend dozens of hours researching the subject through to the lesson's delivery ...

I (semi) remember riding this when i was like 5. it was the first train i had ever been on
Does anyone know the name of the whistles?
Welp, i thought the original was bovic’s whistle, but this is it.
Anyone know the new route?
Married the love of my life here♥ I love this video

Areca Springs is it beautiful place
I’m going to arkansal right now lol
I could never forget this magical place. Breakfast at the Crescent hotel was an experience I'll take to my grave.
I wanted to use this on C&O 614.
Taking it on Friday, I been practicing this route and hope it’s not too much different other than the new roundabout.
how did it go? i take it tmr
How different is the route with the new route?
Just an outstanding video essay that captures the mystical aspects of this place. So well done.
I love how it’s so loud even modern audio equipment can’t capture the sound without distortion. Steam power really is as much a living thing as any machine can be, whether it’s an electrical power plant, a ship or a locomotive.
Excellent video! I now have the fever to go back to Eureka Springs!
Nice
She didn't stop at that stop sign long enough
i wish jeff city would post one of these
If I don’t pass u owe me 😂
POV: you’re taking your test tomorrow and haven’t studied yet

The wise man built his house upon the ROCK (JESUS)
Im watching this so i know what to do Lmao
Saaame
same i take mine in like 2 days and im freaking out
Is the 4014 whistle just part of the song or was that just intentional?
Wow I grew up going to Branson for vacation every summer I can’t believe I never knew that existed
I lived there for 35 years, the uniqueness of the town wore off after the first month, than I had to deal with the ignorant, dumb-ass tourists for the rest of the 34 & 3/4ths years I lived there. People who go to Eureka Springs on vacation, take their idiot pills as soon as they hit the city limits. I know those people don’t act that stupid at home! Eureka ain’t all that people. You’ll get tired of it after 3 days of ducking & dodging dumb ass tourists, so don’t plan to stay any longer than that, Eureka Springs is the Gay Capitol of NW Arkansas so tourists can enjoy that & before you ask me why I stayed here so long then, it’s because my wife is buried here, so I ain’t going nowhere, Duh.
Great video and music. Beautiful place! Cant wait to visit again. Haven’t been there since 1985.
Our family visited Gardiner back in spring of 2017, and in fact stayed at that RV park next to that house. The river was a good 25 feet below the campground and still had a distance from the shore up to the park and that house especially. While it did have a rather swift flow, never would I have thought it would come up that high that fast, even in a 500 or thousand year flood event. It was a great campground too, wonderful amenities, staff, and location. I hope the families in the home as well as campground are doing okay after.
Fantastic! Loved this. So many good memories of these places.
Very cool video, thank you friend
Thanks for the tour. Music matches the experience of what I like to think of Eureka Springs.
Thanks for sharing
that house is built fantastic, even the windows are intact as floats to the nearest bridge crossing, feel sorry for the owner...
Way to take another tragic event and find a way to make it about you and your self centered gospel. You’re deff doing the Lorts work
I am a builder. I do not speak metaphorically. The foundation was FINE. The house did not collapse. It was washed away by a river. Don't victim blame because of outside sources.
It has a Wizard of Oz quality!
My parents would have been staying in Gardiner now. Thank goodness they canceled their trip 😓
that's a good house there
I hope Yogi and Boo Boo didn’t get swept away by the flood.
Some people chose to build their homes right next to the river specifically for the scenic views, which is nice and all, but these are the risks you take when God opens up the sky. Even if a foundation that was anchored several feet deep would not stand a chance since the entire riverbank washed out. No foundation will be left standing in conditions like these man. Like what Jesus said, we must have a firm foundation in rock, not sand.
This was an NPS house for staff. Like Rangers.
If you actually watched the video, you can see the house is not right on top river. The bank underneath was washed away
@@jbird7782 regardless if it was a staff house or not, building next to rivers involves risk. And yes, I've seen this video and other renditions of it many times, thanks!
Eh’ well the house’s foundation did an amazing job up until natural disaster which will take out most anything even with the strongest of structural foundations.
You can tell by the bank of the river that there have been much larger floods than this aometime in the past.
100+ years ago maybe.
Yep you can see it pretty clearly, i call that the high water mark.
