My mother is Armenian but from Uzbekistan diaspora originally and cousins on my mother's side were brought up in Ukraine and had worked in Armenia before teaching ballet, they've told me that rhythmic gymnastics in Armenia right now is in the control of Natalia Rotenberg who is always praising Irina Viner and seen with Alina Kabaeva... They've appointed themselves and have replaced Armenian coaches too with their own favorites instead. It disturbs me that Elvira's mother has burned bridges with the Bulgarian Federation in favor of Rotenberg, who is herself already a controversial figure -- especially among anti-Russian Armenians. It is frustrating too because not everyone in Armenia who is in need of services and aid for disability get them, but I do hope Elvira's brother now gets the care he needs... but I don't understand why that wasn't possible in Bulgaria as the level of care vs Armenia is generally the same? Unless I'm misunderstanding that he'll be getting care in Russia and they've helped arrange for her to compete "for Armenia" :/ I've already seen some comments floating around that Krasnobaeva and Rotenberg didn't get along or something?
