Molly, I haven't watched any of your early videos to view your international travels they sound fantastic. And of course work around the property is never done plus if you want to stay warm during those cold winter nights you have to gather that wood, hope you took care of the cold draft problem. That's one thing about living here in New Mexico, the temperature drops quickly in the winter. Good idea clearing out the dead timbers.

Gathering some Pinon pine branches, for your stove no larger than 2 inches in diameter, keep them on stand by, very handy to mix them on the single digits and below 0 weather, some of these other wood burn nice but close and below 0 they just don't burn hot enough, I do a engleman spruce with aspen and some ponderosa pine, that Pinon will really burn down the house so be careful, even with a red stove at -10 it was comfey, going to our new place every weekend to work, its so quiet, only a distant barking dog! I will tell you about the crazy coyotes another time!😂

Your land and yt seems peaceful. I hope to live off grid or make my home run by nature. I would love chickens and a garden. This year i am leaving my comfort zone job to grow and not rent. What made you want to go off grid?
