Another well filmed & edited video Steven👍nice work. This layout is a perfect example of "less is more", no clutter & overcrowded scenes, just a really well constructed landscape with bags of greenery. Very nice ! ................Andy
Someone in Illie Town is using a dear old Gronk to take a freight train into the freight yard!!
❤amazingaircraft
Top details. You could try putting filters on your video recordings using an app that would alter the entire viewing.
Lovely, some great small details, though the lack of run round from the station is surprising
This is excellent, great track work, like the way you have blended the back screen and the trees. Reminds me of tge paignton and Plymouth junction south of Newton Abbot. Well done 👏
Great layout and as I’m from the Southampton area even better . Brilliant 😊
A great video as always and the layout was brilliant. The scenery was superb and there was plenty of movement on the track, which was fairly simple and straight forward. I found the whole experience was great and a big thank you to all involved in bringing this to us all. From Ron 👍
Very nice layout. Something to be said for a fictional location in a real place. I have done that too. Allows you to do what you want while remaining realistic.
Great micro layout full of detail. With only two turnouts it's amazing what can be accomplished.
Chocolate and Cream coaches? They look better on a layout depicting a West Country scene. They were made for the Great Western Railway!!
Manston Airport? Do you mean the old WW2 airfield at Manston Airbase?
Please see the video description
2:22 Realistic station announcements too! Thanks. Great authenticity of a by-gone age.
Excellent footage, top class HD video. One of my favourite layouts of this era, lovely stuff. Can I ask, what camera did you used to film this? ............Andy
Thank you. I use a Sony AX53 which is commonly used by a lot of videographers. It's far from being the best out there but for its price, it does everything fairly well. It's stabilised which makes a huge difference and allows me to do what I do without a tripod, and not make people sick. It does have the option to film in 4K, however, it will only do that at 25 fps, whereas 1080p is 50 fps. It's very noticeable when I do my aviation filming. I stick with 1080 as its more than good enough for exhibitions, is smoother and more so, doesn't take up a huge amount of memory on my PC and take days to upload even the shortest video!
@@SHGPMedia Thanks for the info, very useful. I've seen quite a few people recommending the AX53, it looks like a very popular option for good results. regards, Andy.
Gorgeous
Thanks for the video, it really was a great show with many excellent layouts.
You're welcome. One of my favourite shows that I've done recently
Very marvellous indeed! I especially love all the steam hauled passenger trains!!
So evocative of the area. I am so impressed with this layout. Cracking scenery & buildings and very believable. Hornby Magazine has a great feature on this layout. Thanks for sharing.
good looking layout, many years ago I actually started a model of Alston in P4 . Its interesting to see some very familiar landmarks, albeit with a lot of modellers license applied I wonder what prompted them to reposition the goods and coal yard to the river side of the station ?
An incredible layout, exceedingly well captured and presented.
@@dibsyardshuntinglayout thank you
Great exhibits and great production values for the video.
@@rogerking7258 thank you
Really captures the atmosphere of the place.
100% agree. I'd say it's the most atmospheric layout I've seen on the circuit so far. The layout owner also has a small diorama layout along the same lines called Skaley Vegas which is also worth a look at. There a video on the channel from a York 2023
This is our layout, what a fantastic video, thank you so much for filming! WRM.
You are so welcome!
The rest of us may as well just pack up! So much action and blended detail.
Nicely done,,excellent work and great details,,thanks for sharing,,😊
My local show.
As a member of Bury St Edmunds MRC, thank you for your video of the Show at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. The show was well received and enjoyed by children of all ages.
@@tonycroft3428 you're very welcome. Its one of my favourite shows from the last few years, just could have done with an extra hour to film the last few layouts better. The fact that it was so busy right up until closing somewhat slowed my filming progress!
Beautiful scenery!
Excellent video, like the way you’ve filmed the whole layout, and the different viewing angles. Thanks for taking the time.😊
Thank you. It can take ages with some layouts, particularly this one, to get in at different points around the layout and vary the angles, so I appreciate the comment.
Making tracks 5 Nuneaton perhaps?
those 350s look nice, are they custom?
I don't know im afraid. Modern image isn't my area of interest
They’re Bachmann
nice job
thanks
Nice to meet and chat at length with you Steven at GETS,Mike
@@mikepringle5523 hi Mike. Which layout were you with?
Is that like a real mortar or is that one that is only for reanactor since you can open up the barrel to take the cartridge back out?
No these are blank firing devices to simulate a mortar. Having a real Mortar would mean them having a weapon which would almost certainly be illegal
A very good video and I like your description of the layouts as they start, and it appears to be a very popular venue. The standard for the layouts was generally very good, but it does peeve me of that some of the locomotives are obviously running CREW LESS ! Now take Stoney End an 0-4-0T in grey livery, no number, no name, nothing ! It is like some operators have no pride at all, or they are just THICK . I do have and run an Exhibition layout in O gauge and I also have OO models and every one has a CREW.
And something that peeves me, is someone who goes to an exhibition and rather than compliment the time, effort and skill these layouts require, seems more intent on finding fault, and having the audacity to question their pride in their own work and call them THICK. I trust your own layout is perfection personified right down to the last rivet.
@@suffolkpompey I am not going to get into an argument with you, I also don’t count rivets. But no crewmen and so obvious, this rubbish should be edited out of exhibition videos. Just in case I have no objection to the Thomas trains as this appeals to the younger generation and is fun for them. Lastly someone has given my comment a thumbs up. ( no one I know ) from Ron
Also if you read my comments again you will see that I have said that everything else about this Exhibition, layouts and video was given GOOD
@@RonCooper-nl4pnhi Ron. I film what is Infront of me. I edit out derailments, stoppages and poor running. Loco crews aren't of a concern to me, although I appreciate they do look better with, than without. If that's something you don't like, then feel free to skip that part or produce your own content, but with respect, do NOT tell me what to edit out of my videos
@@SHGPMediaI do apologise to you as I did not wish to upset you. I also agree that you only video what is in front of you. In my first comment I made I gave a thumbs up to every thing about the Show including your video, my only criticism was the lack of crewmen in the grey shunter. Please accept my apologies to you, I think you do a great job bringing exhibitions to viewers at home. Regards from Ron. 🚂👍😃🚂
thank you for including our layout dark lane
You're most welcome
Awesome...
Hi ya. Great layout and brilliant detail. Love the turntable, yet to do my one. Thank you for sharing. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
Exquisite scenery! BTW : this clip is evidence that a hobby like this is no more than a ruse in order to get away from the missus and have idle chats with the boys. 🤣
Really nice looking layout . Thanks for posting
Thanks for the upload.
I really like the station with double foot bridge and weathered buildings. Great running layout 👍
Super little layout, lots of action.
Nicely done,,thanks for sharing,,😊
The ?oo at 6.20 is mine, it's still under construction though and first time out. Nice to see it from the front
Hi again, what's the name of the layout? I don't see it listed in the programme and according to it there were meant to be other layouts where you were. There was one OO layout listed which I couldn't match to a layout, but I had 2 that I couldn't name, hence both getting ?. I've still to add the cards to the video so the name of the layout will be shown that way
@@SHGPMedia hi, it's currently called East Beckton but that might change at a later date. Its set in the London docklands in 1980
Beautiful good detailled scenes!
The Undergrounds must/may have lights on in it!?
What a lovely model. What are the dimensions?
@@MalcolmRose-l3b no idea I'm afraid, I just film the layouts
Agood layout spoilt by an unnatural cold blue light leaving it in semi darkness
@@hollyappleton1867 there was no additional lighting on the stage so these may have been used as a last resort. Without them you'd have seen less. I personally would have liked to have seen it in natural light
