Centurion has such a bad time going into a detonator I don’t think is worth playing anymore. Runick variants are a suicide with all the maliss in the format so it’s literally almost unplayable. I’d give more recognition to decks like lab tho. A heavy hitter for shure. Inmune to mulcharmies and can reliably set 5 against ryzeal with them having no s/t negation. Karma cannon cooks them and with a setup build u can dbarrier them pretty ez. U have also a lot of access to sanctum, so lanceaing maliss is pretty ez too

The current state of yugioh with ridiculous amount of handtraps in every deck is like many years ago. Back then many played a lot of non-engine in form of powerful spells or traps in their deck. The difference between now and back then is just back then there are many green and purple cards and nowadays mostly orange cards🤷‍♂️

unpopular opinion but i don't really hate a format that's flooded with handtraps. yugioh is the only card game i know right now where both players already play even before turn 1 begins and i think that's awesome. the problem i personally have with this specific format that's flooded with handtraps is that everyone is playing the exact same handtraps in every deck. it results in decks looking like how they were back in GOAT format where every *meta deck* (important note because casual players will play whatever in the end and i think card diversity is irrelevant in a casual setting anyway.) played the exact same few staple cards. all equally boring and uninteractable for the player going second. replace pot of greed and mirror force with ash blossom and imperm. they're practically one and the same. arguably worse maybe because at most in GOAT format staples filled around 25% of a deck but now decks are 60% staples (and by staples i of course mean handtraps)... that's a problem. i won't claim to know much about goat as i was quite literally not yet born when that format existed and i'm not an expert of modern either as i have only been playing for 2 months but with how much of my life has been spent in yugioh during those months i'd argue i have enough knowledge but that could just be dunning kreuger kicking in. the problem with handtraps being generic is that they don't give info on what your opponent might be playing. you could get ash blossomed, impermed twice, then ghost ogre'd and along with that sucking lots of ass, you also have no idea what your opponent could be playing after so while there is interaction, it can hardly classify as interesting which i think is the appeal of handtraps. at best the opponent could play shifter or dominus and those could give you info but not enough... i think if konami wants to push the game in a direction like this, new archetypes and of course old archetype support must feature in archetype handtraps. ban or limit the existing handtraps so people play ones that are in theme instead. deckbuilding remains stale, but at least the actual duels will be more interesting. here's a card idea for blue eyes because why not? [Hatchling with Eyes of Blue] LIGHT Level 1 Dragon / Effect / Tuner Atk: 0 Def: 100 When any of these effects are activated you can discard this card and apply this effect: - Add a card from deck to hand - Send a card from deck to GY - Special summon from deck or extra deck add 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your deck to your hand and when you do negate the activation. After this effect resolves for the rest of this turn and the next turn after you can only activate the effects of LIGHT Dragon and Spellcaster monsters. You can only activate the effect of "Hatchling with Eyes of Blue" once per turn and only once that turn. yeah i know i'm very creative, it's literally just ash blossom but locks you kind of like dominus... between ash blossom and this though i'd prefer getting hit by this instead even though this is technically stronger since the opponent gets to add a card to hand afterwards. but well... it's blue-eyes. they need it... ultimately though people don't like handtraps. not a lot of custom cards out there are handtraps after all and i think that's proof enough.

I was gonna get back into yugioh after I stopped playing when tear full Powered came out and I remember seeing a snake eyes player at my locals open 5 hand traps and he went 2nd his six card was ash snake eyes lmfao

i downlkoaded the yugiho game, first match, i open into a quick lkilnk and end turn, oponent proceeds to summon more than 5 big boss charaters repklacing one with another, aklkl in one turn, in my hand? one effect veikler, i coukldnt do anything eklse because i didnt have a second one in tht hand. as after negating their first speciaklk summoner, they simpkly summoned a second one. i remeber now y i dont pklay.

I used ash blossom last night and it was like it didn't matter. They got their Baron Defleur and at that point it I knew it was over.

I dont get what ppl see in modern Meta 2 turns of card spamming with no back and forth interaction. Only interaction you see is handyraps which are boring af. No wonder ppl call it solitare, its literally all Modern Meta is, its God tier awful. Do all that garbage I'll do Dark ruler no More and Evenly Matched. Set torrential tribute and Macro Cosmos and watch the modern player rip their hair out.

Pure can be intresting but whit a white aura engine you can spam so much more body that you double your board on turn 2. What extra deck do you use other than the Ghoti syncro?
