@@burakece2020 That explains it - the bonus XP from bosses is only on hardcore servers (as compensation for trash giving less XP).

Grats on your placement, well done! Ordaus may be due to me having Wingblade and being level 29, whereas people are usually level 27-28 with Longsword while doing Ashenvale. Trolls are faster at leveling because of their "Regeneration" racial - the increased regen (both in and out of combat) makes a noticeable difference over the course of a whole 1-60 speedrun.

It's a special mechanic on Blizzard's hardcore servers. Trash in dungeons give reduced XP, but dungeon bosses give a ton of XP. However, dungeons are on a 24-hour lockout, so you can't "spam" them.

@@KamisayoWoW I get that, I did BFD I got 4k-5k xp from the first 2 bosses, but Gelihast and Lord Kelris gave me only 650xp.. so it was a bit weird thats why.

@@Zioma_Z Not sure why you would get that little from Kelris - sounds strange

The entire world has that feeling IMO - probably a big part of the reason this game has lasted so long

He has a pulsing life-steal aura that makes him almost impossible to kill. I think you'd have to quite a few levels above him so you would resist most of the ticks

No, I never had that happen - he always summoned the illusions fairly consistently when I tried this pull

Logout skips no longer work in any version of Classic - I use the "Stuck Character Service" on Blizzard's website to achieve the same effect.

My mainhand progression after Scimitar is this: Longsword (21) -> Slatemetal Cutlass (22) -> Wingblade (25) -> Outlaw Sabre (30) -> Falchion (41) -> Vanquisher's Sword (44) -> Tidecrest Blade (56)

Yeah, rogues are quite a bit faster than warlocks, and I think this rogue record can be improved by 2-3 hours.

I feel like that about a lot of zones - probably the reason why I can keep playing this after so many years.

Just a regular combat leveling spec. 2 points in Remorseless Attacks, then the rest in combat (and focusing on getting Riposte as fast as possible).

Glad you like it - I don't make content anywhere but UA-cam, so subscribing here is just fine. Yes, the Rested XP guide I use is one that I custom coded for this speedrun. The part from level 1-22 is available in the "Classic Hardcore", "Rogue Classic" and "Hardcore Community" discords. Logout skips do not work on any version of Classic, but I do not use them in my guide. In a few places I use the "Stuck Character" feature to achieve the same effect as a logout skip. I only use Blacksmithing to craft Rough Sharpening Stones early on until I get poisons at level 23. Crafting Alchemy or Engineering would be far too time consuming to be worth it in a speedrun - the goal is to level to 60 as fast as possible.

No, it was useful to have hardcore rogues for testing so I would know how much XP I got from the dungeons, and then I could plan my questing route accordingly. I had 3 hardcore rogues that died at 27, 36 and 43 respectively while testing limits in dungeons, but I didn't continue leveling them after that. This 4th rogue somehow survived all the way to 60 even though it went in "blind" to a lot of things (including soloing ZF at 47). That's also why I'm going to do another run in a few months, since this was really only meant as a practice run and I learned a lot from leveling this rogue. I think I can reduce the total time to 60 (3d 3h 45m) by maybe 2-3 hours.

I posted the 1-22 section of the guide in the "Classic Hardcore", "Rogue Classic" and "Hardcore Community" discords. If you want to try the dungeons as a duo, I'd suggest using the videos as a reference as you go through them. Good luck!

It was annoying trying to align the base guide with dungeons at the specific level with quest pick ups etc. I also really like your in-dungeon notes. I am happy to pay.

If you can do it successfully, it will make you level faster - but I don't think you should attempt the dungeon solos without having practiced them in advance. I'm not taking responsibility for any deaths if you try it!

They do - I only solo specific dungeons or bosses if they make me level faster.

As part of the route, I have to visit Ratchet and then Booty Bay at level 31. At that time, my hearthstone is on cooldown, so teleporting to Gnomer from Booty Bay in order to ghetto hearth back to Crossroads is something I'd to anyway - killing the boss is just free XP while being there.

If I were able to play on launch, I'd do the quest - remember that there are Darkhounds and Murlocs in multiple places in Tirisfal Glades (including high level Darkhounds that won't be contested as early as the level 5-6 Darkhounds immediately outside of Deathknell).

If you mean at the very end where the void is tanking the large pack, I think it was because I once had them reset and run after myself or the goblin, so I may have been just spamming it for that reason. It's not something I normally do.

It's a ghetto hearth macro that invites a someone and then immediately leaves the party, which means you will be teleported out of the instance to your hearthstone location

Yes, that's possible, and it would actually save you a bit of time, since it means Rethilgore wouldn't be up when you go to open the courtyard door during the second visit at level 28 (the door closes again if the instance soft resets). The two SFK visits are separated by roughly ≈4 hours of playtime in my run, so if you did it in one sitting (like on a launch), you would most likely do both visits in the same ID.

I once got Agathelos (the boar boss) to 400 HP, but it's very much reliant on RNG. He's also very dangerous, since if his stun lands on you and he crits during it, you can die without being able to vanish. I've killed Overlord Ramtusk multiple times, but as I say in the description, it's also somewhat dependent on RNG, and therefore I skip him to not risk losing time.

Since your druid friend won't have vanish, I'd suggest using sap on pulls with 2-3 mobs so you don't rely on resetting a fight with vanish. And of course be careful about patrols and ninja pulling.

No stealth talents - I'm using a normal combat leveling build

3 days, 3 hours and 45 minutes (as stated in the thumbnail). Will post VODs of the full run in the coming weeks, but I plan to do another run in a few months, since this was my first attempt and I think I can improve the time quite a bit.

Correct - logout skips no longer work, so unstuck is the only way to do it on hardcore (you can do it as a death skip if you're playing era instead of hardcore).
